I just watched a YouTube video about "how many dragons each side has" in the Dance of the Dragons and it was wrong. So

On Planetos the dragons never stop growing so the oldest are the largest, which makes a difference in battle. Vhagar (ridden by Aemond One-Eye) is twice as large as other fully grown dragons. So the age of the dragon makes a huge difference in battle. Vhagar is basically the Mountain of dragons and the others are Oberyn Martell.

Dreamfyre (Queen Helaena) is the next oldest dragon, but Helaena, precious bug princess, isn't as interested in battle as her brothers.

Caraxes (Prince Daemon) and Meleys (Princess Rhaenys) are both similar in age. Caraxes is about half the size of Vhagar while Meleys is said to be the swiftest of all the dragons.

Syrax (Rhaenerya) is about the same age as Seasmoke and here is where things get interesting. Seasmoke was ridden by Laenor, but Laenor is gone.

I'm not sure the show has really shown this yet, but there are dragons on Dragonstone that are older, and again, larger that don't have riders. We see a glimpse of Daemon singing to one in the trailer for next week (I think it is Vermithor?).

I don't know if we will get it next week, but there will be a race to find people that can ride these dragons which is very interesting to me because we are going to see how a dragon can be tamed. So far we know it involves shouting in Valyrian at them and having Valyrian blood. But we don't know how much Valyrian blood one needs to ride a dragon. Finding this out could be important for the ending of ASOIAF because Dany needs to find riders for her two extras (many including the show Game of Thrones have suspected Jon Snow as a dragon rider, but could there be another?) .
