Unity’s Soo has made his solo debut with the release of his new single “At Gwanghwamun”! Outside of Unity activities, Soo has begun to branch out musically this year with the release of his promoted collaboration single “Tomorrow, Today” with Knight’s Duri and his participation in “Quit Playing” for base’s COLLA3ORATE Project, but this is the first time Soo is meeting fans as a solo artist in his own right. “At Gwanghwamun” is a piano ballad ornamented with strings with production that focuses in on Soo’s vocal delivery as he sings of remembering a former flame in the rain. Soo helped to write the song’s lyrics. He will promoting the single for a month on music shows .
base’s COLLA3ORATE project has released their latest special single today. “Quit Playing” follows the already release “Drip” to complete the duo of singles executive produced by Dimensions Entertainment. “Quit Playing” is a smooth R&B track. As promised in the earlier press release, the music video earned a 19+ rating and it has since also been announced that the song’s original choreography has been banned from broadcast. The project group includes Unity’s Soo, Knight’s Taeyong, CHARM’s Hyunsoo, Alien’s San, and Element’s Sun.
Duri and Soo release collab single “Tomorrow, Today″
Knight’s Duri and Unity’s Soo have collaborated to release a new single! “Tomorrow, Today” is an introspective ballad about trying to find one’s way in a world of decisions and questions. The music video takes on a hazy, retro road trip feeling as the pair travel roads like the ones they’re faced with metaphorically navigating. Duri and Soo are both among the list of lyricists for the track and they will be promoting the single on music shows for a month.
Jaewon & Soo release collaborative mini-album “Whisper”
Unity’s Soo and Jaewon have dropped their second collaborative mini-album, titled Whisper, under the collab name Uni.Verse! Their first collaborative mini-album, Beautiful Liar, was released last March shortly before Unity released their first full-length studio album.
Whisper has a subtle dance vibe throughout its track list. It begins with the title track and ends with an instrumental version of the same track, but takes a musically cohesive but diverse journey in between. Soo contributed as one of the lyricists on two of the album’s songs (”Beautiful Night” and “Feeling”) and Jaewon contributed as one of the lyricists on three of the album’s songs (”Whisper”, “Beautiful Night”, and “Today”).
“Whisper” is the title track of the mini-album and has a very different sound from the single off of the duo’s first min-album. The track is a breezy and summery one with a steady dance beat. The pair will be promoting the song for a month and b-side track “Feeling” will also be staged for the first week of promotions.

[INTERVIEW] Unity’s Soo talks role in “100 Days My Prince”
Dimensions Entertainment’s youngest boy group has had a busy year with multiple comebacks, two full-length albums, and growing popularity, but member Soo has still had time to further his career in the acting scene. The main vocal made his acting debut late last year and has returned to play the role of Crown Prince Guardian Dongjo in the successful period drama 100 Days My Prince. Here at Exclusive, we got to have the first interview with Soo about his latest acting role. Read what he had to say below!
100 Days My Prince is your first television drama. What made the role you play feel like the right role to progress your acting career?
“After my first drama, I wanted to do something a little smaller. The role I play in the 100 Days My Prince is significantly smaller than my first acting role, and I feel more comfortable with it. The rest of the cast is filled with a lot of well known and respected actors, and I didn’t feel as though I would be able to act on par with them so I went in with the desire to have a smaller supporting role. It gave me the opportunity to challenge myself, but not overstep my boundaries, and I learned a lot through the experience. A lot that will hopefully make my acting skills stronger.”
What challenges did you face while playing your character? Did you find it challenging to play a character in a different time period?
“The most challenging part of playing that character would be the fact that he’s from a different time period. I obviously don’t know much about that time period, apart from what I read in history books, so having to speak and behave as someone from so many centuries ago wasn’t really easy. I had to change the way I spoke and my tone of voice, but in the end the challenge ended up being fun. I like doing difficult things that challenge me and what I’m used to doing.”
What type of roles and dramas would you like to explore in the future?
“I think that I would like to do more period pieces like 100 Days My Prince. It was really fun, and I liked the different costumes they give us to wear.. I would like to explore more serious dramas in the future. Things that have a bit more darker elements to them. It would allow me to expand my acting horizons and give me more experience portraying different roles. I would love to act in something similar to Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days.”
Why do you think people should watch 100 Days My Prince?
“I think that people should watch 100 Days My Prince because of the cast - not including myself, of course. My cast mates are incredibly talented and they committed so much of their time and effort into the filming of this drama. Not to mention that the script is well written. There are a lot of funny parts throughout the show that I think the viewers would enjoy a lot, but a lot of more serious scenes that allow you to connect to the characters on a deeper level. It’s a show that people of any age group would find enjoyable to watch.”
Do you have any other comments you’d like to make to your fans?
“I’d like to thank all of Unity’s angels for supporting me throughout the filming of the show. Please continue to support me, as well as the rest of Unity, while make the last minute preparations for our comeback. We will be seeing you all very soon, please anticipate us within the next few weeks. Thank you.”
BC and Dimensions confirm Knight’s Duri and Unity’s Soo to release collab single
While members of their respective groups are preparing for the highly anticipated debut of CHAMPION, it’s been confirmed a member of Knight and a member of Unity are preparing for a collaboration of their own.
The rumor of a collaboration between the two had begun on social media after the two were caught leaving both BC Entertainment and Dimensions Entertainment together with managers on multiple occasions. Most fans had boiled it down to the two simply just being friends hanging out since it’s known that Duri is childhood friends with Soo’s group member, Jaewon. For a week, there had been talks of it on social media and fans calling upon their respective companies to confirm what was happening.
Earlier today, both BC Entertainment and Dimensions Entertainment released a short statement together, confirming a collaboration single between Knight’s Duri and Unity’s Soo. In this statement, they revealed that Duri and Soo took part in writing the song and that they’re both looking forward to promoting together. Both companies have also mentioned that the track is a gentle track that’s both personal and intimate with beautiful choreography that helps to tell the story. They have also asked both Armor and Angel to look forward to the track.
The single, “Tomorrow, Today”, will be released on July 15.

[+302, -43] at this point, bc and dimensions will do anything to prove how close they are…
[+210, -13] it’s really smart putting these together, they’re really going to show us something that others haven’t shown before. they’re both really strong performers and their voices are going to go so well together. it’s really nice actually getting a vocal collaboration.
[+71, -59] this is just ridiculous… bc entertainment should worry about caring for their own artists instead of buying publicity for dimensions and unity…
[+21, -33] i guess unity is getting a lot of benefits from both champion and now duri and soo’s collaboration…
[INTERVIEW] Unity’s Jaewon & Soo talk collab mini-album Whisper
Unity’s Jaewon and Soo released and promoted the mini-album Beautiful Liar last year under the name Uni.Verse, and have recently returned under the same collab name for the release of a new mini-album Whisper. After a year of Unity growing and tackling new endeavors, including the world tour the group is currently embarked on, Whisper brings with it a new sound for the pair. Exclusive got to have the first interview with Jaewon and Soo about the release of their new collaborative mini-album. Read what they had to say below!
How would you compare this mini-album and its title track to the other collab mini-album you two have released?
Jaewon: “Whisper is a lot more light-hearted than our first album. On the one hand because of the sound of course, it’s definitely more summer oriented than the last one was, more laid back and with an upbeat feeling to it. And I think that reflects into the lyrics of the songs as well. Whisper is definitely more of a feel-good album than Beautiful Liar was.”
What difficulties or challenges did you run into while working on this mini-album?
Soo: “Jaewon and I worked on this mini album at the same time we were promoting and touring, and at the same time that I was filming and doing work for my last drama, so it was really difficult to find the proper time to actually get work done. We did a lot of writing separately from one another, before coming together and conjoining our ideas. Finding a good time to sit down and write with one another was a huge challenge, but I think that we made it work in the end and we’re both happy with the finished product.”
How would you describe the concept of the album and/or title track music video?
Jaewon: “The album kind of feels like a summer love. There are definitely some tropical influences in the sound and a lot of the lyrics pertain to that theme as well so I think that’s kind of the main vibe we wanted to give off. The video for Whisper definitely gives off that summer vibe as well so I think that’s what really ties it all together.”
Do each of you personally prefer the music style of “Whisper” or “Beautiful Liar”? Which concept do you think each of you fits the best?
Soo: “Personally, I really like Whisper more. It’s really fun and has a little bit of a fast pace layer underneath everything, but it’s not too fast that the song sounds messy. I think that I fit both concepts, but the one that I lean more towards would have to be Whisper. As much as I love Beautiful Liar, Whisper feels a lot closer to home for me.”
Jaewon: “I think that for me Beautiful Liar was the better fit, both the music style and the concept. I think I’m a little more comfortable in the darker concepts and sound. But I also think that was part of what made working on Whisper a lot of fun to work on, it was a new challenge to work on and master that concept and make it my own and at the end of the day experimenting with sound and style is a big part of what makes being an artist so much fun.”
How do you feel you’ve changed as performers and artists in the past year?
Soo: “Like most people, I feel like we’ve gotten better as we’ve grown older. We know more about ourselves performing wise, and we know more about ourselves from an artistic perspective. I know that for me, personally, having the chance to write music that’s being promoted for our fans to see has made me a better artist. As a performer, being able to perform music that you’ve had a hand in makes you want to put on an even better performance to prove yourself. That drive has made me a strong performer, I believe.”
Do you both want to continue to collab more with each other in the future or would you rather focus on collaborations with other artists now that you’ve released two mini-albums together?
Soo: “I love collaborating with Jaewon, he’s one of my closest friends and we’ve known each other for a long time. I’d love the opportunity to continue collaborating with him in the future, but I don’t want to close myself off from working with other artists. There are other artists out there that I would love to work with, like Eunhee sunbaenim, Lipstick’s Hyeju-ssi, and Origin’s Seyeon-ssi. Maybe we’ll take a break from collaborating with one another and expand our horizons, but we’ll always come back to one another.”
Jaewon: “Working with Soo always feels a bit like coming home. Especially after having had the chance to release am album completely by myself earlier this year I was really reminded how nice it is to be able to work with someone else and be on stage with them and who better to do that with than one of my best friends? And I hope we get to do more of that in the future. That being said I definitely wouldn’t object to working with other people either just because it gives for so many different opportunities. I’d like to maybe work together with another rapper in the future and release some really rap-focused music, that would be a really nice step.”
What do you hope people take away from listening to this album? Is that different from what you wanted them to take away from Beautiful Liar?
Jaewon: “My biggest hope is that the album leaves people with a happy feeling, now more than ever with its cheery sound. But more than just the album having them feel good I hope it encourages the people listening to it to you know, step outside, hang out with friends, make memories, surround themselves by people and things they love. It’s nice if our music cheers people up but I think it’s even nicer if it can help them be more in touch with other things that make them happy. I think that in that way it hugely contrasts for Beautiful Liar, where that was a lot more about going through certain feelings and situations, Whisper is much more focused on making people feel good.”
Do you have any other comments you’d like to make to your fans?
Soo: “As always, I just want to say thank you. Our fans have always supported us through thick and thin, and I know that they’ll continue to do so as we move forward, not only as a group, but as individuals. We appreciate every single one of our fans, and we can say enough how grateful and thankful we are for them. “
Unity’s Soo to take brief hiatus from schedules for health reasons
Dimensions Entertainment released a statement just hours ago stating that a member of their latest boy group, Unity, will be taking a short hiatus from the promotional activities surrounding their latest comeback. One of the main vocalists, Soo, will be taking a few days long break in order to focus on his health and wellbeing after a fainting spell after the recording of a live stage on Music Bank. The statement is as follows:
“Hello Angels; Due to unfortunate circumstances, member Soo will be abstaining from Unity’s schedules, as well as his own personal schedules, for the next few days. He is currently getting the proper rest and medical attention that he needs in order to have a quick recovery. We apologize for his lack of appearances and we hope you look forward to his impending return.”
The statement then went on to say that they expect him to return back to promoting with Unity by the end of next week, as well as filming for his upcoming drama, It’s Okay, That’s Love.

[+645, -35] why are they promising he’ll be back to his schedule next week? let him rest if his health is suffering
[+413, -17] he’s been busy lately. they shouldn’t give him so many jobs at once and not expect this to happen
[+222, -7] we all know what dimensions is like...
[+30, -63] well that’s one way for dimensions to get unity mediaplay since their comeback flopped ㅋㅋ
