Following his solo debut last year, fans were able to enjoy CHARM’s Kim Hyunsoo on the small screen in the Netflix drama Sweet Home earlier this year in the supporting role of Lee Eunhyuk. Now, BC Entertainment has confirmed that Hyunsoo will be making his musical debut in the upcoming production of the musical Xcalibur where he will be taking on the main role as King Arthur.

The musical Xcalibur is based on the British story of King Arthur and focuses on his journey to becoming the legendary king after pulling the sword Excalibur from the sacred stone.

Xcalibur will run from July 31 to September 30 with Hyunsoo performing the role two times a week.

Yuanjun & Hyunsoo release BC Portal song “Awake”

CHARM’s Yuanjun and Hyunsoo have collaborated in a new single released through BC Entertainment’s wing of the Portal digital music project. The main dancer and main vocal both made their solo debuts last year with the singles “Feel Good” and “Wayo” respectively. “Awake” has a different sound than both CHARM members have shown as solo artists. The song sees Yuanjun and Hyunsoo taking on the deep house genre. Hyunsoo participating in helping to write the lyrics for the track.

Hyunsoo releases debut solo single “Wayo″

CHARM’s main vocal Hyunsoo has made his solo debut with the release of a new single “Wayo”! Hyunsoo began to venture outside of his group activities earlier this year by debuting in the group’s first sub-unit CHARM U and joining base’s COLLA3ORATE project. He also released his first solo OST last month. “Wayo” is a guitar-driven acoustic pop-R&B ballad about the painful experience of struggling to move on from a break-up. The music video echoes the subdued sound of the song, mostly highlighting Hyunsoo on empty sets and streets with low or focused lighting. Hyunsoo helped to compose the song and he will promote the single on music shows for three weeks.

[NEWS] CHARM’s Hyunsoo releases solo OST for Itaewon Class

The second part of JTBC drama Itaewon Class’s original soundtrack has been released onto streaming sites today ahead of the airing of the second episode tonight. For the latest part of the soundtrack, CHARM’s Hyunsoo has been tapped to sing “Start Over”, a rock-infused track.

The OST is Hyunsoo’s first ever soundtrack since his debut as one of CHARM’s main vocals in 2015.

Itaewon Class airs every Friday and Saturday night on JTBC.

COLLA3ORATE releases “Quit Playing″

base’s COLLA3ORATE project has released their latest special single today. “Quit Playing” follows the already release “Drip” to complete the duo of singles executive produced by Dimensions Entertainment. “Quit Playing” is a smooth R&B track. As promised in the earlier press release, the music video earned a 19+ rating and it has since also been announced that the song’s original choreography has been banned from broadcast. The project group includes Unity’s Soo, Knight’s Taeyong, CHARM’s Hyunsoo, Alien’s San, and Element’s Sun.

WISH’s Sophie and CHARM’s Hyunsoo star in CF for Fanta

Carbonated drink brand Fanta has released a new commercial today aimed at the Korean market. WISH’s Sophie and CHARM’s Hyunsoo star alongside each other in the charming commercial. Known as the youngest groups under BC Entertainment and debuting in the same year, WISH and CHARM have been called by some the youthful youngest siblings of BC Entertainment.

In the CF, Sophie and Hyunsoo take on the role of bright friends drinking Fanta at a bowling alley. The commercial features bright colors and endless energy reminiscent of the popular fruit-flavored soda and a statement from the company claimed the commercial and pairing are supposed to represent the image of being more energizing with other people.

CHARM’s Hyunsoo covers Grazia Korea’s May issue

CHARM’s Hyunsoo has tackled his first ever solo cover for this month’s issue of Grazia Korea. Hyunsoo debuted in 2015 under BC Entertainment as one of the main vocals of their youngest boy group CHARM and is currently promoting as a member of their first ever sub-unit CHARM U, but his photo shoot with Grazia Korea is his first major solo activity outside of the group.

For his photo shoot with Grazia Korea, Hyunsoo channeled a subdued and peaceful mood. Throughout the photos for the magazine, he modeled a variety of chic and clean styles for the spring season.
