So ever since the Barbie movie this is the image that comes to mind
When I hear "executive dysfunction"
These are my executives
They're so so dysfunctional.

I work at Starbucks so I can't afford a car.
If you want another example of how this company is full of evil hacks, they are now making it harder for us to get to and from work.
They had this partnership with Lyft where between 6 PM and 6 AM you could get $20 off a Lyft to or from your home store. It was deemed a safety measure for those of us who don't have cars so we're not waiting outside in the dark before open or after close.
It's 7:30 PM, I'm done with my shift. My bus won't be here for half an hour so I try to call a Lyft only to find my coupon isn't applying.
I refresh it, I look under payments, I'm assuming it's a bug. Then I check the benefits screen and find this.
They have *halved* our availability to use this service. Also, not all Starbucks are open under 11:30 PM making this benefit useless.
None of this was told to partners. We had to discover it on our own.
This is how companies fuck you. You may think you have great benefits, but you have no power to keep them. Once labor gets compliant, the executives will take everything, bit by bit, penny by fucking penny. And reminder, this was a *safety* measure. Your wellbeing is meaningless to them.
Fuck the executive class. Unionize now. Collective action is the only thing these bloodsuckers fear and they need to be very, very afraid.
It's strange to see anyone surprised by Universal using a tactic as cruel as denying even shade to picket line members, in the heat-based hellscape that is Los Angeles. So let's try to condense the explanation.
By and large, executives are people who already come from wealth and privilege, and have that wealth and privilege protected throughout their life as they're escorted through whatever levels of education and then into employment.
Most of them have never received any kind of culture shock to make them aware of the struggles of 'lessers'. Their parents and peers had a vested interest in keeping the then-children from mixing with 'those people'.
They are insulated enough from daily life that they no longer see anyone outside their immediate wealth and influence bracket as human.
So a strike, to them, is not "people who want enough money to live and work in health", it's "The machine that makes us money is broken, get those workers back into their jobs so we can keep making money."
So the executives treat the strike like they would a broken machine or a disobedient pet. Hit it until it works, and replace it if it breaks.
And don't doubt for one minute that this wasn't at the advice of a Pinkerton or similar union-busting agency consultant. This is more than just petty; this is tactical cruely.
I LOVE EDITING THE EXECUTIVES. I LOVE THEM. THEIR SO ASUHSHRHDHDHDRHHHHR
Honestly, every news about mass lay-offs sound like
"This game/tv show/movie/platform" did Record Breaking numbers and actually cured cancer. however, the CEO invested a gazillion dollars on Pumpkings and forgot to sell them before Halloween, as a result they had to mass lay-off everyone who was involved on that"
"This ability to make Tough Decisions to save the company is why they are an excellent CEO everyone should emulate"
if there's a little voice in your head saying "you'll remember that. it's important." well, i'm here to tell you that's the devil talking and you should write that shit down somewhere
