Synopsis:

A strange rumor is spreading in Tokyo’s H City: Those who bear the cursed Mark will die.

Unexpectedly appearing on the body as a scar taking on the appearance of a dog bite, the Mark is said to bring about your inexplicable death. Now, having lost your memory, you stand before a mysterious house said to protect those who possess the Mark.

As the doors swing open, the countdown to death has already begun.

Cast:

Main Character

A middle-aged man who’s lost his memories. He was drawn inexplicably to the mansion. It is there that he learns the fate of his curse.

Mary

A beautiful doll that belonged to the owner of Kujou Mansion, Saya Kujou. Her goal is to help Mark Bearers in place of her late master.

Moe Watanabe

A high school student who loves the occult. She visits Kujou Mansion to ask about the Mark.

Tsukasa Yoshida

A rather mature elementary school student. He claims the supernatural and spirits have no scientific basis.

Satoru Mashita

A former police detective. His plan is to solve supernatural cases with force.

Christie Arimura

A freelance reporter. She used to be a famous news anchor, but retired for personal reasons.

Shou Nagashima

A brash delinquent. He comes off as bold and unafraid, but he hates the supernatural.

Suzu Morimiya

An elementary school student who can sense spirits. Her family situation is complicated, so she has no idea where her father is.

Eita Nakamatsu

An idol-loving otaku. He's a regular on the online occult message boards.

Ai Kashiwagi

A popular H City idol. Her strong sense of justice prompts her to play the hero.

Madoka Hiroo

A pharmaceutical company researcher. Normally calm and collected, she gets riled up whenever anything related to the occult is mentioned.

Shuuji Daimon

He runs a clinic in H City. Although he's a good doctor, his bedside manner needs improving. His reviews aren't too great.

A mysterious black rabbit that appears from time to time.

Limited Run Games is one of my favorite developments of the last few years, a boutique company that prints real physical copies of once digital-only games that otherwise would never make it to shelves.

For example, Ray Gigant, which will be sold via the LRG website on April 14. I thought this dungeon crawler was really interesting, fast-paced and sorta futuristic... but I never would have guessed it would get this kind of attention. Neat!

Aksys Games Opens Pre-Orders for Death Mark in North America

Pre-orders for horror visual novel Death Mark for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita are now open in North America. The game will have both a standard and limited edition release at launch.

The limited edition release will include the following:

Physical game disc

Exclusive 96-page full-color hardcover artbook

Spooky soundtrack CD

Temporary tattoo sheet

A dramatic printed slipcase to hold everything

Aksys Games has not confirmed an exact release date for Death Mark on social media, but online retailers list the game’s release date as October 31, 2018. Death Mark has been rated M by the ESRB.

At their Anime Expo 2018 panel yesterday, Aksys Games announced plans to localize two visual novels for fans of horror games and otome visual novels alike!

The Tokyo metropolitan area’s H City. In this suburban city, a strange rumor has been spreading recently. Those who possess the “mark” will die. The “mark” is unexpectedly engraved onto the body, as if it was a chewed up birthmark, and is said to result in an unknown death.

As a matter of fact, a strange incident occurred where someone met a suspicious death. This incident has become an urban legend, and has propagated various speculation such as it being the result of a ghost encounter somewhere or unknowingly coming into contact with a curse.

Having lost your memory, you stand before a western-style house said to protect those who possess the “mark.” As if drawn to something, when the doors to the house open, you’re greeted by a beautiful doll who is the lord of the mansion.

“Welcome to Kujou Mansion.”

The doll continued to speak.

“You will die if you stay like this.”

“But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a way to be saved.”

The countdown to “death” had already begun…
