Treasure Island Poster Covers: Since Treasure Island has had a lot of reboots, I started to look at some of the posters that have been made from the 1900 - 2012. May create a poster as well for the book. Looking at the colours, composition, typography which some have the some kind of style and images they use.

Easter Project: This is what I did for the easter project, didn’t do many only the one. Tried to make a horror kind of affect to it, with the skull and the running ink going down the pan, leading to the ‘X’ under the skull.

This is a video i have looked at as an idea for a final piece. The level of detail in the piece is quite overwhelming at first. But this may be something i look into and explore. I may create a simpler version of this stop motion piece showing the life of Miss Havisham...

My idea for my project is to create a sequential narrative piece showing the progressing/ageing of the character Miss Havisham. Beginning at the stage in her life where she was happy and about to be wed, then showing the progression to a wealthy spinster with a vendetta against all me. The final piece will show how she has shrunken to skin and bone, yet still wears her wedding dress despite the withered, decaying appearance.

This is another artist i came across whilst doing research. Meg Hitchcock uses text from scared books and reworks them to portray an important message, usually of religious origin. I like the intricacy of her work and the amount of detail that goes into each piece. This is an idea i wish to explore to create my narrative piece.

Treasure Island Introduction: On this page in my sketchbook I started to write down notes about the book that were interesting to me. These notes I’ve written down are from different pages of the introduction of the book. photo isn’t the best, but yeah.

I chose to focus on the book ‘Great Expectations’ because it is a book I had read at school as part of my GCSE. I have also seen the film and the BBC Series based on the book. The book interests me as it is heavily focussed on the one character ‘Pips’ growth through life. It portrays his life growing up from being an orphan to becoming a well respected gentleman despite his struggles. The book explores several themes; from life and death, love and rejection to wealth and poverty.
