i was reading a fic where one character was trying to teach another to pronounce a sound in another language and i commented about this in a kind of silly goofy way because my response to the explanations in the fic was to attempt to figure out the sound so i said i was going to spend the rest of my afternoon trying to figure out the sound and the author took it way too seriously like dude no i am not actually taking fanfiction as a reliable source for language learning like what
