Hello fable fandom, have memes
Hi Fable SMP Tumblr,,, can I please interest you all in my current Fable fancast/faceclaim headcanon-
fun silly fable thought/headcanon: was Icarus always supposed to be a bird? because when you think about it, Isla isn't an avian so bird stuff had to be something intentional by fable, but what if he didn't mean for them to come out that way?
what if instead of having wings like a bird, they were meant to have wings like an angel? supposed to be Fable's angel? Supposed to be a servant, to always obey Fable's will and support his every endeavor? But instead something went wrong, instead of being a haunting helper to their father they came out like a free and wild animal?
He wanted them to sing in a devout choir and instead he got a child who chirped with no rhyme or reason other than their feelings. He wanted an eerily beautiful reflection of himself but the person he got had to spend too much time fixing unruly hair and preening disorganized wings. He wanted a child who was above human nature, beyond mortal means, but they were so tied to their human and bird instincts.
Instead of being his lesser carbon-copy, they came out entirely human, bearing a human resemblance of him. Despite how much they look like fable, a bit of Isla's adventurous, free spirited nature bled into them. And at the end of the day they were not obedient. they did learn to question, to stray from their god. And that was his downfall.
so i was randomly thinking about day one of fable smp season 1 today and i had a thought—
my like- day one base on fable season 1 had me randomly set up in a desert temple- it was just because i needed a structure to stay in and wanted to secure a bunch of villagers but thinking in the context of c!sherbert that is WILD—
the idea of Icarus going through the resets, waking up in a brand new one, and setting up shop in one of your dads old MILITARY BASES?? out of HABIT?? that has wild implications-
like— back on day one of fable we didn’t have as much worldbuilding as we had by the end, since we added more and more as people joined— and we didn’t have the explanation for desert temples being from the war of the gods until mid season 2, but it’s funny to think about in hindsight—
oh the implications of how they were wired as a kid—
I Had A Really Upsetting Thought!
So in the new Chronicles of Wonder premier thing release it shows the art of Fable…
He had golden feathered wings…
So I’m wondering if Icarus comes back from being Quixis will they still have their purple bits? Because if not they will also have golden feathered wings.
That will just be another reminder to Icarus about how alike their father and them are.
I also thought about like Fable’s greying hair and how Icarus’ is turning a bit white at the roots. That’s a thing that might not stay but if it did it could be suckish for Icarus.
(Apologies for any emotional distress caused by this post)
I drew @iforgotwhaticalledthis’s meme format of fable, yippie!!
I know how we're talking about how Icarus has a white streak and look more like Fable, but can we talk about the epilogue wings for a second?
Like, I'm aware Icarus' are white and gold-ish yellow, but they are mainly that gold-ish yellowy hue than white. It's just the down feathers that bleed into the white. Fables Elysium wings are feathered, and that pure gold-ish yellowy hue in comparison to the light rays and swords he had during S3 as that was his elytras chosen design.
It's adds on to the whole thing of how Icarus was mainly raised by Fable to be a second copy of him but with a few differences (for example, their ears, their behaviour in some areas, height....), alongside the most likely fact of how they were meant to be by his side and aid him as well as be his successor if anything ever went wrong if the war continued. To which this can be seen in the evil timeline and this side of their relationship and how it plays out.
Icarus' wings could have been like their dad's potential wings, that pure gold-ish yellowy hue just like their wing ears, yet because of everything, they never got that. They got a show of how they were half themselves and now a starting to change or have changed mortal.
The similarities in their wings when Icaurs returns home, although one is elytra and the other is Elyisum wings, just adds to the pile of similarities they have and also goes on to help show these two's relationship outside father and son. In addition, it shows that even though Icarus may be trying to separate themselves from Fable they will still be connected to him.
That's all. I think.. Thank you for your time.
Fable, unprompted, goes on "words of wisdom" rants at any question he is asked. Like yes, hes a God, hes been around since the literal creation of the world, so he may have some "wise intent to share" but again... he goes on it every. Damn. Time.
And when he does, his tone is almost mansplain-y but for a god... Godsplaining...
And he does it while manipulating others and that just pissed me off more-
And i grew to hate it to much-
(Disclaimer: Dan did a terrific job at portraying Fable, and this way of speaking worked beautifully for the character... but i hate the character so-)
