*deep breath in, deep breath out* Icarus and Rae reflect enderian and fable respectively not the other way around in this essay I will-
Icarus’s journey reflects Enderian’s more, their path to being good, to changing, is nonlinear. They start as an antagonist, they’re spiteful and manipulative. (That’s not to say corruption didn't make Icarus 100x worse but it exasperated an already existing problems) Icarus cant even love wihtout someone getting hurt, which is an Enderian thing. Furthermore, both characters DIE to get their happy ending and atone for what they’ve done, they’re both morally grey, they both don’t know how to love people quite yet but they do it anyway they’re not exact copies, but they’re interesting
On the flip side, Fable’s whole shtick is fixing things, you’ll never guess where we’ve heard that before. Rae and Fable are both set in their beliefs, they love fiercely, they want a better future for everyone, but while Rae will sacrifice himself for that (oh yeah im referencing centross’s death) Fable sacrifices everyone else. They both got boxed, they’re younger siblings, Fable can see himself in Rae more then he sees himself in Icarus
Conclusion: Icarus is Enderian with a guilty conscious, Rae is Fable with morals (horrible oversimplification but you get when I mean)
