A faction swap au?

That's a bit of a stumper, since Jezari and Savler, at least in fic!verse aren't exactly attached to either faction.  Also, does a faction swap AU assume that all details but faction of people's pasts are the same? Or does it assume that they end up in the same(ish) place, but for the opposite faction? Though, hmm...

Doing as straight a faction swap as I can manage, we have...

Savler is born to a family of honest business people somewhere in the Republic. She pursues her teen dream of competative martial arts and eventually grows up to have a personal security and investigation business, probably aimed at business people. Lucrative, possibly challenging, but probably a little too routine to quite be satisfying.

Jezari is the Force null (or close enough) daughter of a Sith Lord and a smuggler, which means she probably grows up in reasonable luxury with both parents, since Sith Lords can just, you know, get married and have kids. So she might have Sith siblings. But what do you do with a Force Null non-human daughter who wants to be a pilot and isn't great with rules? Best options would be Sith Lord Ianya pulls strings and gets her into Imperial Intelligence or finds a loop hole to let her run off with some of daddy's old friends and turns her loose on the galactic underworld. (Though that would probably be cheating, at least as far as this exercise goes.)

Kyrian as the orphaned son of Republic military officers is probably best off if he somehow gets hooked up with the SIS's orphans and cybernetics thingy on Nar Shaddaa.* The Republic just doesn't seem to be dealing super well with the fall out of the war, and that includes orphans. Fast forward to the present, and he's an SIS agent with fancy implants ala Theron Shan and Mako.**

Then we just have to manufacture some sort of cross-faction shenanigans to get the three of them in the same place at the same time. Czerka and techzombie weirdness on Tatooine? Something, anyway. After working together once, cross-faction shenanigans continue and... hell, this AU probably does end up with them as the A-Team in spaaaace.

Jezari's slide into treason would be slower than Kyrian's was, since she has a family to consider, is somewhat more morally flexible, and is not quite as squeamish as he is. However, Kyrian's morals and squeamishness are still going to be a problem for him in the SIS. No amount of spy holothrillers will ever give him the right personality to be a spy. Best case scenario, Savler cooks up a plan to fake Jezari and Kyrian's deaths and they all run off to be mercenaries together because hey bigger challenge and no rules. Worst case scenario, they end up with the Republic and the Empire both after them...while they try to make a living as mercenaries.

why this was made? because i got really bored at some point between 3am and 10am this morning, and finally decided to make this at 12 in the afternoon.

here we are.

bonus: they go to sleep that night and wake up in their own bed with their own lover (if they have one). do they assume it was all a nightmare, or try and meditate on it?

another bonus: if they weren’t force sensitive before and are now, do they attempt using it now? if they were force sensitive and no longer are, how do they get through their day without it?

even bigger bonus: can they find the person they accidentally switched with?

2. your switched!toon is just beginning their class quests. how is their relationship with important figures (ex. tremel, harkun, satele, orgus)? the choices that the toon they switched with, have they changed drastically?

3. your switched!toon with their gender’s love interest(s). write some fluff!

4. your switched!toon comes across their equal (the person they switched with, but they aren’t aware they switched) how does this encounter go?

5. your switched!toon with their gender’s love interest(s). write some angst!

6. your switched!toon during kotfe (if they switched with your outlander). what’s different here? do they rule the alliance differently than their equal? is their relationship with those in the alliance different?

7. your switched!toon has to make a big decision in their equal’s shoes (ex. fighting the first son, choosing to ally with the s.i.s or intelligence, fighting the emperor), is it different than the way their equal would’ve answered? what is the fall out here? do their companions respect them more or less?
