This isn't really an experience so feel free to delete, but I just figured out I'm alterhuman, specifically mythkin and faegender. I felt different-to-human all my life but didn't quite realise I was fae for a while. I'm not out to anyone atm and not sure how much my friends know about otherkin/zenogenders (I'm sure they'd be cool, they're lovely people, but I'm really nervous) and just wanted to come out somewhere

Every so often I get a reminder that my outward presentation feels most affirming if it's likely to make people feel like they encountered a fae creature slightly disjointed from this reality and that labeling that "gender" feels feels like I'm taking other people's language and I *know* it's not fit for the situation but if you want to translate it as faegender it's as relevant as genderqueer. Queerness of all sorts. Changeability and liminality and flux. These are the things we think about when the seasons change and we cut and dye our hair
