I've had this idea rattling around for a while now. I want to know if its good and sad enough.
So Established McHanzo.
Maybe they've been together for a while, a couple months. Long enough to where everyone knows. They're rooming together. Anyways something happens, and they argue. They fight and it maybe even came to blows. And they're both sours over it and are refusing to speak to each other till the other apologises.
Of couse Jessie is the first to break and goes to their/ Hanzo's room. He gives an apology and says that he loves him. Says they can talk after h comes back from a mission they put him on.
Hanzo brushes it all off and doesnt respond. He can give a mean cold shoulder.
Jessie slinks back to his old room and packs all his gear and the team is off.
Days pass and Hanzo decides the moment he sees Jessie again He'll apologize and tell him he loves him back. Later that morning they get news that the ship is returning and that Angela should be ready bc someone is hurt. And everyones stomach drops. But Hanzo feels like he needs to throw up. Jessie had told him he loved him and he didnt reply. He'd make sure to rectify that. Then when the ship touches down everyone waits to see who it is and how bad it is. Mei is rushed off on s strecher and Hanzo cant help but hate the pang of relief he felt when he saw it was in fact NOT Jessie. He watches as the rest of the team shuffle off in different states of wear. One by one. He counts. He's holding his breath. Finally Soldier 76 walks off the ramp holding a neatly folded serape and an ugly old cowbot hat. And hanzo feels his heart break. He cant breathe. He cant hear anything past.
"We lost him."
As Jack walks closer and holds out the clothes Hanzo takes a step forward and reaches out to take them. But to his horror Jack walks past him. Denying him the remnants of his lover. He turns and watches as Jack hands the clothes to someone else.
To Faheera. He watches as she shakes her heas and mouths something, and how he watches Jack's head bob in confirmation as he hands them over. For a split second he meets her eyes and she frowns at him before walking away.
Hanzo is consumed by too many different emotions. He's bitter. The clothes should've gone to him. Jessie was his. He'd been Jessie's.
It turns out that Mei'd been pinned. That they had been going to kill her. So Jessie made a decsion and led them away. It had been relayed that he said he knew he wasnt getting out of it, so he was leaving his important stuff for them to remember him by.
Part of Hanzo was proud of him, the other part cursed him and his heroics. That part also damned Mei for allowing herself to get i that postion.
Over the next few days people try and comfort him, but it's nowhere near the amount of support that Faheera gets. And he cant help but to curl his lip. She wasn't the only one who'd lost him. Everyone had loved Jessie. Genji had to remind him not to be too upset with her, and before he cand retort, Genji finishes. That while he may have been a lover to Jessie, Faheera was a sibling in every sense except blood. She had a right to mourn her big brother.. He"s still not pleased, but he understands better now. Besides. She could keep one stetson and a serape. He had everything else of Jessie's in their room.
Then a few days after that a familiar face is caught in video surveillance working with talon. And Hanzo's heart breaks all over again. And he's filled with rage. Taling will not get away with taking Jessie and doing whatever freak tests to him. He will get him back.
