Cause when kie confesses/tries to talk to him in s3, he NEVER ONCE says he doesn't feel the same way. He only says "it would never work." WHICH SUPPORTS the idea that he fell not only first but a LONG time ago. He's already worked out the course of this entire relationship in his head. He's already thought out every single possibility. And he thinks he's SO WORTHLESS and believes the ABSOLUTE WORST about himself that he NEVER IMAGINES a world where they get to be happy together.
