I think Fake Skating is poorly written and gets most of its hype because of the author

to all those who have read better than the movies but haven't read the sequel, nothing like the movies: i kid you not the sequel was SO SO good, i personally think better than the first one. of course reading bttm is a personal and amazing experience that everyone should have once in their lifetime, but deadass nltm was just so raw and so real and sooooo omg. genuinely the best thing i ever read. something about it just made the characters deeper, because it wasn't trying to be as rom com-y as the first one if that makes sense
