I've been studying with a future potential artstyle to complement my more minimalistic rendition of the characters but I also wanted to explore the complex relationship Crowsong and Falconflight are bound to have

Crowsong originating from a broken family and having witnessed the torment of her mother torn apart from the thing she used to hold so dear traumatized Crowsong deeply and remained as a deeply and firmly rooted mindset about love

Crowsong has convinced herself to become prepared for whenever something good she has is to be ripped away from her and because of her history of being abused this manifests as rage and simultaneously, her fury doubles as a form of self-defense but this does mean that Crowsong does lean into a toxic relationship with Falconflight as she views him not as a pillar of support but as another rut that threatens her wellbeing if she were to fall into it.

Eventually of course with conciliation and reassurance from Falconflight Crowsong does begin to trust someone like she did Weepingwind and Omensky but that doesn't mean she didn't begin to trust herself

I believe the inevitable breakout between Crowsong and Falconflight resulted from Falconflight inability to truly sympathize with Crowsong. At least in the beginning, When Crowsong shows her dark side (PUN INTENDED), all that Falconflight sees at that moment is a rage-filled, selfish, and stubborn she-cat bent on her own ideals and mission. And while she can be those things this is only the result of a kitten who was forced to virtually survive by her own and with this Crowsong is also deeply terrified of any form of change because throughout her whole life change has brought nothing but torment.

the real reason i just drew all those shadowclan cats: i wanted to do a lineup of the maplesoot fam. i love that none of these guys look even remotely similar color-wise and beestripe is the only adopted one <3

some of my favorite warriors ocs :) (stormfrost’s ref is pretty old shh) these cats are all half-clan and their story is centered around overthrowing some shitty leaders who don’t like the fact that there are a lot of halfclan cats. read more has some more info about them.

lightningclaw: born to a skyclan queen and an unknown loner tom. lightningkit was a very shy and timid kit whose heritage left him an orphan when his mother died. the only cats who managed to befriend him were flamekit and lionkit, and only through them did he manage to come out of his shell, becoming a snarky and spirited young apprentice. the three cats were inseperable. as a warrior, lightningclaw realized that he was in love with flameheart, but he kept his feelings for the tortoiseshell tom a secret since it was clear that flameheart and lionstrike would soon become mates. lonely all over again and looking for someone to fill that void, lightningclaw entered a relationship with a she-cat named shellfang. shellfang was very possessive and controlling over lightningclaw, which deeply worried flameheart and lionstrike, but lightningclaw would only snap whenever they showed concern. they had a kit named sparkkit, whom lightningclaw loved dearly. when shellfang was exiled for conspiring with the aforementioned shitty leaders, lightningclaw moved into the nursery to care for his son, still dealing with the fear that shellfang would return to hurt them again. he mended bonds with flameheart and lionstrike before going on a journey to find other halfclan cats who had been wrongfully exiled. on that journey he saved sootwhisker’s life and developed a friendship with her (she named one of her kits after him). he later became the skyclan deputy.

sootwhisker: born to wolfheart of shadowclan and stormclaw of skyclan, has two brothers named mountaincloud and ashfall. her denmate tawnykit would bully her for her heritage (unbeknownst to tawnyclaw, she was also half riverclan), so sootwhisker grew up resenting the fact that she was halfclan until she fell in love with the windclan warrior maplestorm. the two she-cats had three kits together named ravenstorm, lightningheart, and falconflight. however, sootwhisker called off their relationship and broke maplestorm’s heart when she became deputy of shadowclan, but this only caused tension to grow between them when maplestorm also became deputy of windclan. their uneasy friendship was shattered when a group of windclan warriors accidentally killed ashfall, for which maplestar refused to apologize for. mad with grief and feeling a sense of betrayal, sootstar declared war on windclan and caused several unnecessary battles and deaths. she spent a few moons in the dark forest before maplestar convinced her to let go of that anger and join her loved ones in starclan. the two forgave each other and became mates again in death.

falconflight:  the shadowclan medicine cat, son of sootstar of shadowclan and maplestar of windclan. he has two sisters named ravenstorm and lightningheart (who was named after lightningclaw). he had a brief relationship with a she-cat named stoneflower which resulted in a single kit, thistlekit. since he's a medicine cat he kept his identity as the father secret so that thistlekit wouldn't have to grow up with the stigma of being the medicine cat's son and the product of a long line of forbidden relationships, but he always looked out for and loved him. the decision was flawed, but he thought he was doing the right thing. falconflight grew to be old and eventually retired to the elders den, while thistlefrost grew to be a reckless warrior who ultimately died in battle.

stormfrost: born to smokestream of riverclan and mothmask of shadowclan. his sister goldenkit died during the birth, and it was decided that stormkit would go to riverclan while tawnykit (tawnyclaw) would go to shadowclan. stormkit loved his dad and adopted mom dearly, and he knew from the moment he opened his eyes that he wanted to be a medicine cat. he trained under a former loner named apollo and formed a deep bond with him as well. stormpaw fell in love with the skyclan medicine cat willowpaw and found any excuse to spend time with her. tragedy struck when both his parents were killed in a deadly bout of greencough, which stormpaw blamed himself for not saving them. he became cold and withdrawn and was named for his “frosty” personality. he found more and more comfort in willowleaf until she, too, was killed by a fox, leaving skyclan without a medicine cat. it was also around this time that riverclan’s leader was starting to crack down on halfclan cats, so despite apollo pleading for him to stay, stormfrost left to become skyclan’s medicine cat and found a home there.
