It’s Sunday, October 11, 2015. The last day of fall break. Here’s one last song to peruse as we head into next week and the end of a quick respite this October. It’s kept me busy an was kind of fun, so what of it, maybe I’ll keep doing projects like this, to keep me busy and connected.

Bonobo - Sapphire
Bonobo is a Scottish producer who rather unfortunately has not made any new music since 2013. A tremendous as I adore his soft, reflective style of electronic, that one could as easily dance at a rave to as fall asleep on a balmy summer afternoon while listening to. He’s an electronic musician but his style is more specifically called trip hop. It was and is an experimental British breakbeat genre, blending the tropes of techno an hip-hop, leading to a odd, “trippy” fusion of the two.

Welcome to Electric Wednesdays, so get ready to get shocked. Electronic music is a relatively new genre, being built of off experiments with the artificially constructed sounds of first computers in the 1950s. It would first be incorporated into the disco of the ‘70s, reinvented as techno by African-American DJs from Detroit, to be proliferated by European DJs in dance halls of the 1990s. Today electric composition often dominates mainstream music through the use of autotune an synthesized beats. An though often maligned as not “real music” I rather enjoy it an find it to be a uniquely inventive an creative medium. Get shocked kids.
