That one random Fallout NPC from Goodneighbor who I really like.
I've been compiling data this year on Fallout's Metro sculptures that appear in Fallout 4. I started to wonder just how many there were, so I armed myself with GECK and started a head count! Working with @calder on this reference has been lovely.
There are four sections. 1. A density map for the Commonwealth map to show where most Metro sculptures exist, isolated by their type. 2. A list of many high-density areas with photos documenting their arrangement in the location. 3. A list of every single Metro sculpture, sorted by type, with a photo, its cell coordinates, and form ID. 4. A comparison of some Financial District asset discrepancies depending on whether you're loaded inside or outside Goodneighbor.
Feel free to use this data for any of your Fallout lore research or projects. Definitely @ me if you post anything that uses it. I'm very interested to see what the fandom might extrapolate based off my findings!
Chili Night
For me, making chili is like grilling, it all starts off with a good beer. This one is the Oktoberfest made by local brewers, Wiseacre:
This is my go to cook book for making chili. My maternal grandmother gave it to me decades ago. It has about five chili recipes and I cherry picked each one to come up with my own recipe:
This is the recipe that I actually use as a rough guideline:
One thing not listed on that recipe is Chorizo. I cook it first rather than mixing it with the beef since it renders out so much oil:
See. That is all Chorizo oil:
Time for another beer. This one is the Grindhouse cream ale by local brewers, Ghost River Brewing:
Fallout 4 fans who sided with the Railroad might find their logo interesting. If you happen to be able to pick up some Ghost River, crack one open for Glory. Good luck and easy roads, Wastelanders:
Mad Hatters and Habaneros for the chili. Pro tip: Unless you are a bad ass grandmother used to working with hot peppers, I recommend using surgical gloves when working with hot peppers:
I usually use canned beans for my chili but I did dried beans this time. They take longer but they give you plenty of time to get you mise en place in place:
Sweeting the onions in the Chorizo renderings is the first step in building flavor. Next, I add garlic, sweet peppers, hot peppers and celery ... in that order:
Time for a Modelo Negra:
The finished product:
And an appropriate libation. I first discovered Shiner on a trip to San Antonio many moons ago and the rest, as they say, is history:
Dear SE,
You’re a bunch of psychopaths and I love you for it!
No one can convince me that Mei’s backstory isn’t just one big Fallout reference except instead of 210 years it was 9 and instead of her son she’s looking for the rest of Overwatch
I have hundreds of fallout 4 reference pictures saved on my Google Drive. Might as well upload them so that someone else can get a use out of them.
John Hancock.
