23.2.17// Campus library day. Love those big windows and the long tables where you can spread all your stuff on. I´m currently working at my Paper on “wir schlafen nicht” by Kathrin Röggla. I finished the “novel” and I´m starting to write from...tomorrow on. In the meantime, I also wrote a Wiki article for my seminar on Postmodern novel and I´m quite happy I´m done with it. Time is running out and I need to focus on my paper NOW.

8.3.17// Good day for my writing but I'm so damned slowly! And I also had lunch with some uni friends, we chatted a lot, we had coffee and “Mohnkuchen” - poppy seeds cake, apparently quite popular here in DE - , we had such a nice time but my writing is suffering. I know, I know, students should treat themselves and don´t forget social life but I´m counting the days brokenly and it makes me so sick. 6000 Words in 10 days. LET´S DO THIS!

16.3.17// Researching on my next topic: écriture féminine in Elena Ferrante’s “L’amica geniale” / “my brilliant friend”. I have to go through some feminist literary theory and critics and by now it sounds like fun!

3.2.17// long and quite productive day. I had an intense seminar in the morning and I´m quite satisfied with my speaking. Then I had a long study session in the library (from 2 pm to 7 pm), I´m so deep into my readings, I´m working on Röggla´s Essenpoetik Essays and it´s just the beginning. Next week I want to collect all my readings so that I can start building a bibliography and writing my paper. I also found an awesome Spotify playlist, so calming, inspiring, so good for focusing!  Soundtrack: Intense Studying playlist on Spotify

9.3.17// Status of my Paper: 2862 / 6000 Words  Pretty good days for my writing. I finished the first Chapter, I sent it to my proofreader (she’s sweet and I really need someone to check my german ) and I´m starting the second Chapter. Feeling very confident, for the 17th March I want to be done with this. And yes, I´m smuggling some juicy red apple, although food is forbidden in the library.

3.4.17// I received the books for my next semester. I’m kind of scared by the immensely huge number of pages I have to read for the seminars: - Berlin Alexanderplatz by Alfred Döblin ( p. 543) - The Man without qualities by Robert Musil ( p. 1041) - The sorrow of the young Werther by Goethe (p. 309) - Lotte in Weimar by Thomas Mann (p. 450) And I have to do my readings for my next paper dued for the 1st June. But I rewarded myself with a lovely photo book of Berlin with Döblin's references and tales and I’m so excited about it.

12.3.17// Status of my Paper: 5800 / 6000 Words  pretty good news:  I´m almost at the end of the second chapter!  bad news: I need to write the introduction and conclusion and I´m probably going to exceed the 6000 words, which troubles me a bit.  Is it bad?

23.3.17// planning the courses for the next semester. This time I want to attend all the courses and write two Papers/Hausarbeite. So I´ll have just one Hausarbeit and a project left and I can start planning the Masterthesis. It scares me a little bit to plan everything in advance but I also would like to do a Praktikum / traineeship and I need free time from the courses. I also would like to attend a C1 german course and a Kulturtandem. I´ll be kind of busy <.<
