yeah, let's just ignore the fact that the song was made by a black man and ignore all the racist shit going on with Gooseworx and the crew, and twist this entire narrative to make it seem like people who criticize this choice are transphobic.

and sure, Jax is not white. but her VA is and so is Gooseworx. this entire story was written by a white woman. so i don't think you can use the excuse of "actually Jax is asian!" especially when that fact was only revealed at the end of the series. not to mention, people of color can be racist too.

and if we're talking about transphobic stereotypes and propaganda about trans people being predators, maybe we should address the fact that Jax sexually harasses Gangle? “you think trans people being associated with children is wrong!” no one said that, but y'all seem to think it's okay for said trans character to canonically be a misogynist and a sex offender?

People saying that the revenge porn is a response to the diss track and somehow equal because Lestat didn't accept Armand's apology are either 1) stupid 2) don't watch the show 3) stupid and only watch Armand's scenes.

Armand never relented, this is not a revenge for a line a fucking song that wasn't written about CSA by the composer of the fucking songs out of universe (morons, he would have mentioned it). This is a takedown. A tactical revenge because, again, Armand craves his 'rules' and cultish behaviour as much as he craves Lestat.

And all this shit is an isolation tactic. Let's explain it with steps, shall we?

Step 1: Get into Lestat's band by brainwashing Alex.

Step 2: Go to Lestat's bus and vaguely threaten him about the Great Conversion.

Step 3: Kill Larry and further turn Alex against Lestat.

Step 4: Get Alex to film Lestat while he is being sexually abused by Gabriella.

Step 5: Get into Daniel's head and exploit his ego and sexual deviance for him to publish the video as revenge porn that will forever be associated with Lestat.

Step 6: Get Louis and everyone he loves disgusted with Lestat and further isolated him from everyone. (Didn't work with Louis but might work with the the rest of the band).

Step 7: Decapitate Lestat and Louis and separate them.

Step 8:??? Next episode

Armand is not hurt about the fucking diss track, you dumbos (and even if it was hurt... I don't know how to tell you, but mean words aren't excuse to sexually assault someone). This is the same tactic he used in the trial,, the same he used with Claudia, the same he used with Nicki: fake spectacles and humiliation to isolate his victims. He is a a cult leader, that's what he does. And when it comes to Lestat, he is a leech. He can't stand rejection, even if the reasons are laid (like killing Claudia!). He wants to control Lestat by any means possible, even if that's something that will be violating and disgusting for the rest of his life.

Then there’s the straight up racism towards ppl portraying Gooseberry as black even though she has a black VA and she was experimented on by a scientist who’s historically known to have only experimented on black people. Also the ableism towards Franco and the hate towards people who find him attractive.

And no, we’re not taking away any of the horror from Outlast or making it less scary. It’s not like we barged into Redbarrels and declared our headcanons as fact. The horror stuff is still gonna be there, this is just fandom.

I seriously find it odd how people can’t think Daniel as being a fucked up person. The whole point of S3 is seeing how messed up everyone is and navigating our way of hating and loving and then hating them again. That’s exactly what this is about.

Is Daniel evil? Absolutely not. He’s had his moments of vulnerability and weakness and navigating his trauma of mortality and losing his family which he blames himself for. He fucked up two marriages and his daughters won’t even talk to him anymore. But it’s not like they’re dead to him and he finds regret in what he’s done. He’s all alone and it’s his own damn fault. You don’t think he doesn’t think about that when he’s sucking blood off a kill and bowling? In fact, he has forever to think about it now.

But at the same time, he revels in the trauma and pain of others by peeling them like onions in pursuit of the truth. He wants to exploit them for his own benefit and will throw away empathy if it means he’ll get a good story. Journalists can be ruthless when it comes to the truth and they’ll destroy people to get a good story. But if that were true, every journalist would be prime to be a vampire.

Daniel is way more than that. He’s attracted to vampirism in ways a mortal shouldn’t be. That’s what makes him fascinating and that’s what makes him vampire material.
