Welcome to ASPEC fest 2k19!
There have been a lot of folks asking about whether or not there will be another aspec fest this year, so here it is!
If you didn’t or weren’t able to participate last year, welcome! If you’re back from last year, welcome back!
What is the Aspec Fest: The Aspec fest is aimed at increasing the amount of works about asexual, aromantic, and aspec characters in fandom. This fest is inclusive of all identities, from asexual and aromantic, to demi, grey, and akoi. Sex favorable and sex repulsed welcome! All ace and aro identities deserve love and attention!
This year’s theme will be trope inversion!
What restrictions and guidelines are there for the fics and art we do?: In short, there aren’t any! We recommend that a fic you write should be over 5k words and any art is full and completed in a way that it tells a story for you. BUT, we understand that life is a tough thing sometimes (which is why this is happening later this year than last, sorry folks), and adding strict limits makes it difficult for some people to participate. The fest is to introduce more aspec representation into your fandom, and no matter how long your fic is, any amount of writing will do that!

Fics will be put into a collection (check out last year’s collection here!) so that everyone can browse and appreciate the works that others have done (and maybe discover a new fandom to love!)
as always, the discord is open and available! Whether or not you can participate, you are more than welcome to join the discord to find likeminded souls who enjoy talking about aspec characters and headcanons. It’s also a safe space for aspec people to come together to talk, empathize, get advice, rant, and just hang out.
