I don’t know if anyone has written a school orchestra AU for Dead Boy Detectives, but I’m curious what people think would be a good instrument fit for each of the characters. First or second violin? Cello? Viola? Any woodwinds or brass? Who is whose stand partner, or belongs to a different section yet sits nearby? Any harp or piano soloists? Who’s a section leader, and who’s the concert master? And who’s the conductor?

i hate fandom because i want to write adult stuff but everyone’s like “oh, adult stuff? you mean fucking” and it’s like no. that’s not what i mean.

see i want to read fluff stories which involve my faves struggling to pick out an IKEA couch and debating when to rotate the sheets from flannel to sateen and also, like, debating about what a reasonable price to pay for a sheet set is? like that’s the adult version of prom.

like my version of prom is surviving a holiday with inlaws. that’s what being an adult is. this is what i require out of fandom now.

so I'm tentatively world building for an FFXV AU and I'm trying to decide if I want Aulea to be alive or not. Like I can definitely write the story either way and it's very... -ponders- ofc she's little more than an OC based on how... little... we know about her from canon but like. Yeah. That's the debate of the night.

I was really conflicted with myself like "should I put an almost-self insert into my fic and have her date Arya Svit-Kona, the love of my life, and would it be absolutely be the most ridiculous aspect of this very self-indulgent AU that I've made for myself" when I remembered that it's MY fic and I can DO WHAT I WANT

So I guess this is also a reminder that whatever insecurities you might have about your fics, about being “sensible” or “canon-friendly” or whatever, it’s YOUR fic and you can DO WHAT YOU WANT

There are other reasons for Jaskier to have renounced his name and family and estate and title than sexual assault. And anyway, we already did that in Hawthorn. It’s cliche now, even if it would make for hurty drama. 

Come up with something else.
