365 Creatures: Week 9!
We're wrapping up Fantasy February and moving into our themed March! But before we dive into it, March has to grace us with Yet Another Horse as well as the first Seasonals! There are three of these seasonal creatures at the start of each season. Spring is... probably the most wholesome of the four.
57. Polar Bear + Owl Bear
Bears! And be honest, which one are you more afraid to encounter in the wilds? I mean owl bears are scary and all, but... polar bears are desperate. But for right now, they're hanging out! How wholesome and sweet of them. Don't worry, the owl bear isn't sizing you up...
58. The Glitch Ancient
I had to do at least one Eldemore ancient, and it was a no-brainer for me to choose Snafu! I love so many of the ancient designs, but a glitchy chaos creator? We love a glitchy chaos creator. I even gave it an Even Longer tail, because apparently that's what I do. I never got this one in the game, but some things stay on your wishlist forever...
59. Phoenix
We're ending Fantasy Feb with a phoenix! It's fitting, isn't it? The symbol of rebirth, right at the end... (and also maybe because March is just going to kinda be Fantasy Part 2: The Others) It's also what ended Eldemore, funnily enough. A chain of phoenixes, and then silence... But the ashen phoenix is cool! One of my favorites, even with how hard it is to choose.
60. Horse
It is Horse Day and I did a Horse. This is horse number... 5? I think? And it's finally just a plain ol horse, no wings no flash no stripes no abilities. But it is a mouse dun! I love that mousey grey color, and I love a good overo, so here we are. And we also have to ask the crushing question... Am I secretly a horse girl because wtf is happening??
61. Starlight Deer
I redid this one's head and legs very last minute. And by last minute I mean, like... the night before this is posted. I wasn't happy with it, but I like this a lot more! I might hate it again later, but by then it'll be too late. That's how you beat perfectionist brain! But I do love my little starlight deer. Then again, I love any excuse to use that star-point brush. I like stars, okay?
62. Suchoptera
We've got hints of spinosaurus, we've got hints of crocodillians, we've got wings... what's there not to love? This one has always been hard to have references for, but I like how it spanned out! And self-shoutout for being able to fit both the wings and the sail in while keeping everything visible. But man that was a lot of spots...
63. Devil's Day Gecko
It's a day gecko... but spoooky! Well, not that spooky. It's just got a little devil horns marking on it's forehead. And this one in particular is gonna be colored like candy, so... maybe still not the most intimidating. But it's just a little glowy guy! So we'll excuse it.
It's a fairly chill week! At least, by February's standards. March is going to be... a lot. But hopefully I can actually prep these ahead of time and not the literal night before! We can dream...
