I've been slowly working my way through the various species that exist in the setting I've been designing and drawing each of them by hand to replace the reference pictures I copied from online sources (albeit images that served no purpose other than taking up space in my Scrivener documents). In order, we have a: Troll, Minotaur, Gnoll, Fielur and Auna. The Troll, Minotaur and Gnoll are all fairly self-explanatory, while the Fielur are 4-armed fox people with especially long snouts, ears, whiskers and tails, and the Auna are a species born from many other aquatic species using alchemy and magic to combine together to avoid the extinction of all of them.

How to kill trolls you find in the wild

A handy guide for the intrepid adventurer

You know the scenario. You’re minding your own business out in your corner of the wild when boom! A troll. What on earth should I do? you ask yourself. Well, I’m here to give you a step by step guide to help you get rid of those pesky buggers as quickly as possible.

If possible, do not engage. You might hate running away from a fight, but honestly avoiding conflict where possible can be the wisest course of action when dealing with trolls

If you have to engage it in battle, be wary. Trolls are slow and stupid, but their sheer brute force will overcome any fancy battle tactics you know.

Be quick and decisive. Go for the eyes and then the throat. Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to draw the fight out. Remember, trolls are a lot stronger and have better stamina than you. You will tire first.

Any witty fighting banter will be completely wasted on a troll. Save your breath.

Rule #1 applies throughout the entire altercation. If you see a chance to flee in the middle of the fight, take it.

Note: TROLLS ARE NOT CUTE. TROLLS ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO TRY AND EMPATHISE WITH THE TROLL OR STAND THERE LIKE AN IDIOT TRYING TO REASON WITH IT. TROLLS ARE TOO STUPID FOR THAT AND WILL EAT YOU REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU “UNDERSTAND” IT.
