Reimagining Rescue Riders dragons into the HTTYD movie universe

Part 2: Fastfin

Class: Tidal

Fastfins are social, semi-amphibian dragons, who live mainly in fresh water bodies. Their slender and flexible bodies grant them the ability to effortlessly glide underwater, with their swirl shaped patterns helping them blend into the river floor foliage. Fastfins need to keep their tiny scales moist lest they dry up, making their skin flaky and prone to injury, or in worst case scenarios - death.

Their water blasts can vary in pressure - from trickling streams, to powerful jets that can peel the flesh right off your bones! But in doing so, they risk damaging the throat, so these high pressure blasts are only used as a last resort.

Due to their beautifully patterned hides being valued for a quite a high price in the dragon hunting market, these river dragons tend to stay far far away from any human settlements, constantly migrating to new waters with their packs.

more playing around with Thunders redesign, made him into a few different types of dragon as practice. Saw a headcanon/au where thunder was part skrill and I really like it, but I’m a but unsure how to design it.

I honestly still not sure how to feel about Fastfin, On one hand they’re wavy kinda fury-like long necked water dragon with webbed feet and that sort of tail, kinda basic and that’s alright, that’s good. Httyd could use a few baisc webbed feet long neck water dragon with that sort of tail. For the longest time I’m actually pretty alright with this concept and species. But getting to draw and study them, they’re kinda hard to figure out despite it simplicity specifically the part wheter if it should be 1. Light fury but with long thin neck and body 2. A Featherhide or 3. Lend fully into the sepentine small head long neck kindalike Dragonair/Lapras. Option 3 honestly sounds good but it stray to far away from Fastfin so I dial it back to make it look and feel more Fastfin. I’m happy with this in term that it feels like how the Fastfin should be now but it also does make me like this dragon a little less. In the end, this dragon is basically a Light fury fonted Sand wraith.
