TABERNA DO CAIS DAS PEDRAS
WINE, FRIENDS & TAPAS!
RESERVATIONS: 222 017 198 The Taberna do Cais das Pedras is my favourite place to go out for dinner with friends. Of course if you are with friends you want good wine, good beer and good Tapas. For me tapas means noise, happiness & friends, which is exactly the combination that you will find in this awesome restaurant. It is located in a privileged area by the river which adds value to this place. The owner of the place is Isabel who brings lots of life to this small and busy restaurant. She was also the owner and the founder of the Taberna do barqueiro, a small restaurant with only 4 tables located in the heart of Oporto but the success of the place demanded something bigger. This cosy and welcoming place was the perfect answer for the demand and now it is always full of customers.
About the food, the Tapas are 100% Portuguese, Portuguese products, cooking methods and traditional plates. Some examples are, the ‘Pataniscas’, Portuguese goat cheese, ‘alheira’ and ‘Chouriço’ (Portuguese sausages), clams Portuguese style, ‘Moelas’, wild mushrooms and so many small and unique dishes. The prices vary from 1,5 to 7€ for the tapas and the wine is also very accessible with a great selection. Check the FADO nights on all wednesday's of the year! Go there and you will become a fan… I can bet you will.

A MARGARIDA
Portuguese just love bread! This is an awesome and perfectly prepared dish by Margarida!
RESERVATIONS: +351 22 996 1402 / +351 93 532 0645 Portuguese gastronomy is one of the oldest in the whole world, and as such it is also one which includes a large range of refined flavours. The Portuguese are the creators / founders of various methods of cooking and they have some incredible, typical and unique dishes.
Margarida is the name of the owner also of the restaurant that offers a dish that is part of Portuguese history, the “Açorda”. My opinion and the reason behind this recommendation is that this is surely the best seafood Açorda of Porto!
The Açorda is a dish with Arab origins. It comes from the word "Tharid" which translates to "bread crumble". From there comes the Açorda, from the Arab occupation of the south of Portugal and from a time of resource scarcity. Bread and olive oil were the main products available and are the basis of this dish, along with coriander, garlic and salt.
Margarida’s interpretation of this dish is excellent: a bread based dish served ... also in bread! The restaurant is a modest, small place with 10 or 11 tables. Then again, that’s how it should be, traditional, warm and typical. It is a unique restaurant and is regularly visited by all the food connoisseurs of Porto (even all the great players of the best football team in Portugal, the FCPORTO ... being completely unbiased).
Whenever I have the opportunity and the food craving hits me, I go and eat this delicious dish, served by relaxed and fun waiters, that welcome all guests with a green wine (typical from the north of Portugal) and some jokes that make you feel at home. For less than 15€ you can have a very pleasant dinner (Margarida style Açorda 9.30€)
This is one of those secrets that must be revealed, everyone should visit this great spot!

Ugh guys. I've gained a bit of fat recently mostly around my midsection and my abs aren't as defined as they used to be. Ugh I just feel so fat lately and it's been really getting me down. I do similar workouts and I think I need to shock my body but at the moment all I can do is home workouts. I just really need to be able to run again.
