ok i'm rewatching derry girls (you can probably tell from my reblogs lol) and so this is who i think the characters fit in the marauders fandom (based on personality, not looks)(also unless i explicitly mention the relationship, pretend characters aren't related.):

erin- she's so Lily to me. Like yes she wants to be a writer. yes she's the main character. yes she's in love with James. ofc.

orla- i've already made a post about this, but she's SO Sybill to me. personality AND looks wise tbh. i love her. if i was making her one of the ACTUAL marauders, she'd 100% be peter. no questions asked.

james- cmon. it's James. maaayyyybe Peter. but like. James.

michelle- either Sirius or Marlene. probably Marlene.

clare- 10000% Remus. i'm right. you know it.

Father Peter x f! Reader, Fluff, Angst if you squint, Ficlet [737]

Summary - Just talking about love and life with a handsome priest. Warnings - None. But just a note: the reader is non-religious, or at least uncertain of what she believes in.

After most of the survivors had gone to bed, you found yourself tiptoeing to where Father Peter stayed, a dim lantern guiding your way. It was a short walk, though you did your best not to alert anyone on night watch, who would surely tell you to return to your room for your own safety. 

The priest must have heard you coming because the moment your form was illuminated by the candlelight’s warm glow, he quietly spoke.

"Can’t sleep?”

You searched the area, scanning over the ruins of various objects and crosses until you finally spotted him sitting on the ground a few feet away, nearly camouflaged by his dark clothing. 

Your eyes met his, shaking your head, “No. It’s hard when night and day pretty much feel the same down here.”

He smiled gently, reaching over for a jacket and gesturing for you to sit next to him. You gratefully accepted the invitation, settling in as he draped the article over your shoulders.

“You came to the meeting today,” he noted, glancing at you with a small smirk. “Usually, you have better things to do.” 

It was true. You often used your responsibilities as an excuse to stay busy and keep to yourself. It was easier that way; to not have anyone expect anything of you and vice versa. But Father Peter was persistent, frequently checking up on you and offering things you might need.

Eventually, you gave in. He was charming, in his own right, and you slowly developed a relationship with him that was completely separated from his holy persona. It was nice, you realized, to have someone care for you the way he did.

“I’m not sure if I believe in the things you believe in,” you began, hugging his arm and resting your head on his shoulder. “But I do believe in what you’re trying to do for everyone here.”

“That’s kind of you to say,” he grinned, slightly humored by your passive support. It didn’t bother him that you had different views. He knew how you felt about him, how he felt about you, and that was enough.

The room was silent for a few moments as you both sat in contemplation, watching the shadows dance behind flames. 

Then, you tentatively whispered, “Can I ask you something?” 

He peered down to your hands that were lightly holding onto his sleeve. On one of your wrists was the bracelet he had given you months ago; one you never took off despite its symbolism. 

“Go ahead,” he nodded.

“Do you think if we met before all of this happened, that you still would have taken an interest in me?”

He hummed, briefly thinking about his answer before stating, “If we had met in the time before this, I would have imagined a future with you after simply learning your name.” You blushed, a bit surprised by his romantic reply. 

“And now?” you nudged.

“I don't dare picture it. Not a future on this Earth, anyway.”

Your head rose to look at him directly, taking in the sincere look in his eyes and the subtle pull at the corners of his mouth. This wasn’t a priest speaking to you. It was an imperfect man who smokes, drinks, and gambles showing a side of him that was just as human as you. He was being honest. 

By his loving gaze, you understood his words weren’t meant to scare you or diminish your hope. You knew he meant to live alongside you for as long as he could, no matter what the future may hold. So you rested your head back down, relaxing into his side once again.

This time, he wrapped his arm around your waist, carefully running his hand up and down the curve. He appreciated that you accepted his honesty and chose to spend your time with him, even though harsh realities surrounded you at every turn.

“Do you think that if there is a Heaven, that… I would go there?”

“That’s not something you need to worry about, sweet girl.” He kissed the top of your head and sighed, “You don’t belong here. You deserve much more.” 

You craned your neck to see him again, beaming at his affection. And at the sight of your lips, he couldn’t resist capturing them, kissing you softly until you parted to satisfy one last curiosity. 

“Would you come find me there?”

“I will find you in any life.”
