Does your Weekend Ruin Your Fat Loss Progress? . Never miss any update from me. Follow @weightlossmotivation66 . A few days ago, I put up a post about how ‘cheat’ meals/days don’t work for the majority of people, especially those with goals to lose body fat. They often promote unhealthy relationships with food and result in being knocked way out of a calorie deficit 🍔 . . Many people underestimate how many calories you can consume during a cheat/meal or day. Many so called ‘unhealthy’ meals will easily contain 1000-2000 kcals and that’s without the added drinks or desserts. If this happened as one off, then no harm done. If this happens every weekend (usually the whole weekend for many people), you will undo the work of being in a calorie deficit, training hard and sleeping well, during the week . . How to combat this? As I’ve said many times before, it’s all about calories. Adopt an 80:20 way of eating, whereby you consume whole, nutritious foods 80% of the time, and ‘fun foods’ 20% of the time. If you want a chocolate bar on a Monday, then fine, just work it into your daily calories. Restricting and eliminating foods you enjoy, will only lead to you binging on them further down the line! .
