Ever get unsolicited nutrition advice from a morbidly obese person? I went out to breakfast with my GF and her mum and this was the second time we went out. My GF needs about 2/3 the amount of sleep I seem to, so I'm sleepy when I stay with her, so both times I binge on coffee and since I'm always on keto I use splenda or other zero calorie sweatier.
The first breakfast I thought I noticed her mum look at me putting splenda in my coffee. She didn't say anything about it, though but I sensed she might mention it. The second time we went out for breakfast, I guess she was more comfortable around me and the second I grabbed the first yellow packet I get "you know those are bad for you, right?" and I politely question her and her argument is the generic 'it's not natural, and it has chemicals blah blah' you've heard this vague BS from countless simpletons who worship 'conventional wisdom' and think the FDA, nutritionists and science in general has been paid off by corporations who want to poison everyone.
Hold whatever bullshit views you want, but it really bugs me when people feel like they are evangelists for their ignorant opinions. I never looked at her giant presence and told her 'you know, being morbidly obese is not good for you' Like she may have thought somehow I was unaware of the idea that "artificial sweeteners are bad for you, because my Facebook feed said so" -- Does she really think I've never heard about this? This person is about 400 pounds, if I'd have to guess; she has no business giving anyone nutrition advice, unless I'm trying to put on some serious mass.
