I personally never thought I’d ever eat beans or peas as a travel snack. Heck, I never thought I’d eat beans or peas as chips! I recently discovered World Peas and reached out to them to try their Fava Crisps and Flavored Peas. World Peas was kind enough to send me 3 packets of their new Fava Crisps (Ranch, Barbeque, and Vinegar) and 3 travel-sized packets of their Green Peas (Ranch, Barbeque, and Wasabi). If you’ve never heard of World Peas, their snacks are natural, GMO-free, rich in protein, high in fiber, and free of trans fat and cholesterol. Another thing that’s great about these snacks is that they are perfect for people who love crunchy foods. Plus, they serve as a great alternative to chips.
Now, here’s how I felt about the beans and the peas:
Fava Crisps: Each flavor was very strong. They did not skip out on the seasoning for these crisps, which I loved. The only flavor that I wasn’t too fond of was the Vinegar & Sea Salt. I expected this particular flavor to taste somewhat like Lay’s Salt & Vinegar Chips, but there was just more of an extremely strong vinegar taste. The Barbeque and Ranch flavors were so delectable and typically masked the taste of the fava crisps. One thing I disliked about the crisps is that after eating the crisp, there was a weird, strong aftertaste that I wasn’t too fond of.
Flavored Peas: Just like the Fava Crisps, World Peas made sure to make these little peas very flavorful. Once again, I fell in love with the Ranch and Barbeque flavors. I was a bit scared to try the Wasabi flavored peas because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be too hot, which it was if you decided to eat a handful at once. This flavor also had a weird aftertaste to it, but the Barbeque and Ranch flavors didn’t share the same aftertaste.
Overall, I see myself maybe buying the Barbeque and Ranch Flavored Peas (maybe the Fava Crisps too), but definitely not all the other flavors. If you want to try the Fava Crisps and Peas for yourself, check out the World Peas Shop online!
