Hello! I'm new here, I don't know if you're still taking requests, but if so, I'd like to request headcanons or scenario (whichever you think is best), from Dimitri or Claude in the post-timeskip, with a reader who has a crush on them, but who is extremely shy, like Komi-san's personality (I don't know if you know her 😅). People often think the reader is cold, but in reality she just can't talk because she's too shy.
I haven't written for fire emblem in a while but so I hope I'm not rusty
nav.
When you both were students, Claude had been unable to figure you out like he had with his other peers. At first, it had piqued his curiosity, as he didn't like to brag, but Claude would like to think that he could get a good read on people at least.
When he had offered you a chance to join him years later, he was much more surprised to learn of your unique personality. Many thought you were outright rude, even still, as you often kept to yourself. Conversations were most often one-sided, with you providing short answers or only nodding your head. Of course, Claude knew people would assume regardless on if you truly meant it or not.
They didn't see how your eyes lit up whenever he snuck you an extra serving of your favorite dish, nor how you cracked a bit of a smile when he set a swindling merchant on his way when they tried to scam you, only for the merchant to lose out on the deal in the end. A part of Claude couldn't help but feel a little proud that only he was privy to such things. Even so, the heir to the alliance knew that you didn't purposefully do things to seem standoffish.
But you had your moments of hidden kindness. If Leonie needed new wire to restring her bow, it would be conveniently left in a spot you knew she'd be in. If Ignatz needed paints that would've been harder to get due to the conflict, then somehow he had fresh pots of them.
Upon confrontation one day, you had all but fled the scene. Claude, of course, never knowing when to leave well enough alone, followed you. And the rest was history.
"Claude, stop it!" You hiss as he simply smiles knowingly at you. Onlookers watched in shock as he took you by hand to stand in the middle of the freshly restored hall. It was a celebratory scene, the alliance having won and whatnot. He had bowed before you, kissing your knuckles. All but announcing who you were to him without saying it out loud. A melodic sounding laugh leaves him, as he stands now, pulling you as close as propriety allows.
Strings of instruments are plucked, music begins again. Claude leads in the dance, despite your chagrin. Other couples begin to join, prompted by your unofficial lead.
Your heated face does not deter Claude's advances either. If anything, it goads him on, his watchful eyes careful as you follow him in a waltz. For once you're relieved your two left feet do not seem to make an appearance.
Of course, that’s quickly rectified when Claude, rather unceremoniously, dips you and presses a kiss to your lips in front of the other attendees.
—
When it came to your silence, Dimitri understood it was more than you thought he would. When you’d sit on a nearby bench, or rather it could have been rubble for all he knew, you were not perturbed by his ramblings.
In a way, he almost thought it was a way to show him that, in your own way, you too saw him.
Once, he had seen you standing in the back of the group, as Hanneman went on his current lecture of magic and their relativity to crests. You were quietly taking notes, and your current table partner had all but given up at making any kind of conversation, as you simply stared, nodded or shook your head at any questions.
It was a small thing, how your solemnity spoke over your voice. Although he flushed at remembering Hanneman’s clipped tone when asking what the then Prince found so interesting that he was interrupting the lesson.
He had found a note in messy scrawl, first an apology, then the next, a small diagram of the lesson’s more complex equations. He’d seen you quickly leaving the scene, leaving him to ponder.
Now, years later, you were sitting beside him. Dimitri’s cold silence was a bitter thing. But you had remained. Something like guilt twists inside of him, but he cannot find the words to properly convey his feelings.
His mouth opens and closes, but no words come out. Instead, you take the first words.
“Annette made you these,” Your voice is a soft thing. Raspy almost, most likely from a lack of use. So quiet that if it was not just the two of you in this dilapidated chapel, he’d have to strain himself to hear it.
A bundled cloth is placed in his hands, he felt warmth, as he’d removed his gloves, while you got to work mending them. As he carefully untied it, he saw steaming bread rolls. Despite himself, hunger rumbled in his gut.
You make no sound that is laughter or derision. As you simply thread the needle to sew. You watch as he tears into the rolls, few bits of steam that make you blink in surprise more than anything.
The napkin is folded neatly when he’s done. As though he’s remembered himself being with present company. You trade him for newly mended gloves.
“Thank you,” He finally mumbles.
You only nod, placing the folded napkin in a bag that you had with you. The small box of needles and thread had been placed away there too. You’re all packed and ready to go.
But you don’t leave.
You don’t pull away when Dimitri’s fingers brush against yours either. A tap then two, as you both sit quietly. The moon is hidden by the clouds for a moment as you look up at the sky. Then your expression softens when the clouds finally clear up.

ended up staying up late to 'do work' and heard you guys talking in hushed voices
desperately tried to open her door without it making that giant ass creak
claude didn't really care if she caught you guys, he wasn't ashamed of you
he just didn't want to make it super public so you'd both get bothered by people
"i knew it!" hilda whisper screamed, pointing at you both with the utmost betrayal.
"ah, you got us," claude said, shrugging casually and draping an arm around your waist to pull you close. "can't tell anyone though, i'll make a courtyard announcement about that one time at the ball-"
"fine, fine," hilda sighed. "how long have you guys been dating?"
you glanced at claude to ask if it was ok to tell and he squeezed your side lightly for permission. "nearly a year," you admitted.
"WHAT?!"
"shush, people are trying to sleep," claude tutted, shaking his head disapprovingly.

he's not slick, he's too awkward that dedue figured it out ages ago but decided not to say anything
he got asked about it while weeding the lawns and turned bright red the whole time
dedue really didn't care, he just wanted to know if there was a second person he needed to look out for
on behalf of his king, he might have to protect you as well
dimitri would appreciate it but he likes being your saviour :))
"you're dating [name], right?" dedue asked monotonously as he carded through the grass looking for weeds.
"what? no... we're not together- not that i would hate it, but-"
"i saw you both last night," he interrupted. "under the stars."
dimitri's face burned at the notion of getting caught with his partner on a date, but he continued to work on his weeding. "don't tell anyone, please..."
dedue smirked at dimitri's embarrassment and nodded. "looks like i'll be needing to protect someone else as well."
"that'd be appreciated, but i'd like it if they didn't need such protection if i'm around," dimitri admitted, covering his face with his hand.

ashe doesn't get it entirely but honestly doesn't want to know do he gets his snack, says goodnight and goes to bed
"dedue?" ashe called softly, holding a candlelit lamp in his hand.
dedue turned from his work to look at the smaller boy with a gentle smile. "ah, what are you doing this late?" ashe laughed awkwardly as he made his way to the cabinets.
"i could ask you the same thing," he responded. "i just wanted a midnight snack." dedue hummed at ashe's answer as he dished your food into a bowl and moved to quickly wash the pans. "isn't that [name]'s favourite?" ashe wondered, staring at the bowl.
"indeed. they wanted something to eat, so i took it upon myself to get them their favourite," dedue explained. ashe nodded slowly as he processed the information.
"so... are you guys dating?" he wondered. the silver-haired man simply smiled in response.

mans isn't happy about being discovered
"hey man, didn't you already come to the markets earlier today with [name]?" sylvain asked, following behind felix as they mulled about the stalls.
"does it matter?" felix bit back, shoving the red-head by the shoulder. he stopped in front of the stall you'd found the necklace at and forced himself to suppress a relieved sigh.
"oh, that's the necklace they were telling me about at lunch today," sylvain commented. his jaw dropped as felix picked it up and handed the money to the merchant. "wait, are you guys a thing? is that why you've been staying out late?"
"shut up."
"dang," sylvain ran a hand through his hair with disappointment. "i was gonna ask them to dance with me at the ball, too- OW!" the man doesn't think his arm will ever feel the same way again.

you nodded and leaned in to give him a chaste kiss. "mhmm. did you make dinner tonight? it smells nice." he smiled at your compliment and laid the picnic blanket down for you to sit.
"i did, i tried to get here as fast as possible so it'd still be warm enough," he said, settling in beside you.
as the night passed and you began finishing your date, you both froze at the sound of footsteps. looking to the source, you awkwardly smiled as ignatz emerged from the trees.
"i'm so sorry for not announcing myself, but i came out here to paint and ended up with this..." ignatz shyly handed you his fresh painting, warning you about the wet paint. you and ashe smiled softly at the image and thanked him for the painting. "i won't tell anyone, i promise!"
FE3H X READER ONE-SHOT FIC:
“His name is Ferdinand Von Aegir!”
"You have always had difficulty in remembering people's names to their faces. Raised in your humble hometown, it was no secret among the people about your shortcomings but when you're chosen by your local noble to accompany them to Gareeg Mach, you find yourself constantly tested with your shortcomings. Especially when you feel the ghost of a blade against your neck should you stumble among
However, there is one noble that makes it easier."
a/n: This was supposed to be short. A short story of Ferdinand Von Aegir. It just…happened and now it’s 9 pages long. First Fe3H story that hit me so here we go!
◆ Reader and Byleth are not specified with a specific gender or sex. Will be referred to with they/them. ◆ Involves a bit of pre-war and post-war content which contain minor spoilers ◆ Ambiguous ending that can be interpreted as platonic(-queer) or romantic. ◆ Reader struggles with name memory recall (unable to remember names of people) ◆ {Ao3 Link}
For as long as you could remember, you have always struggled to remember names. It wasn’t to the point that you couldn’t remember your family or your loved one’s names, and with enough time and practice, you could remember their name to their faces. However, outside of that, you struggled.
Back in your hometown and village, it was easy enough. You remembered your friends well enough, and the rest of the villagers were very aware of your shortcomings and didn’t hold it against you. It certainly did help that practically everyone knew everyone, and had either seen you grow up from a baby or you grew up with them.
However, you never expected your plight to be your constant bane of existence at Gareeg Mach Monastery and the Officer’s Academy. It was a lifetime of an opportunity for you and many of the commoners in your hometown. Sure you were attending the academy as a commoner because you were mainly there to accompany (read: serve) one of the nobles of your hometown, but you were expected to attend the classes for the betterment of the nobles of your land.
It was easy enough at first because you employed your greatest and safest tactic. Most nobility had particular alterations to their uniforms to differentiate themselves from the common people, so you only had to refer to them as either “my lord or milady” and get away with “ma’am, sir, your excellency," and etc. And with how often they said their last name, you go with that.
But as you got closer with your classmates and the adjacent houses, you were starting to be weighed down by the stress of remembering their full names.
The leaders were easy enough.
Claude was enough to remember how often the Golden Deers and others called out his name for various reasons.
Edelgard was easy because Hubert kept referring to her and anyone as “Lady Edelgard” and she would chide her aide by calling his name in reproach, before repeating their names.
Dimitri was easy because whenever you referred to him as “his highness” like many others had done, much similar to Edelgard, Dimitri insisted on calling him “Dimitri”.
Everyone else…? You were struggling still and you could feel yourself tripping up a few times.
But there was one student that had absolutely no trouble remembering their full name and it was as easy as breathing.
And that was Ferdinand Von Aegir.
The nobleman often recited his name as much as it was the goddess mantra, and it just stuck. You didn’t have to struggle hard to remember his name and he didn’t seem to hesitate to re-introduce himself.
It also helped that he was a great person by all accounts. The first few times you’ve accompanied your land’s noble child as on their attempts to get close to the Aegir noble, he introduced himself proudly and always seemed to approach everyone with the same level of respect.
It only increased when you brewed a personal blend of tea that your noble employer enjoyed for both them and Ferdinand at afternoon tea, and the Adrestian Noblel was greatly interested in your brewing skills.
You even dared say you two were friends as he enlightened you that a nobility wouldn’t think to tell a commoner (you would know, you served under a noble) and you showed him the life of a commoner; bonding in a way that you and Ferdinand shared.
You enjoyed the times when you shared tea time with each other and contemplated the difference between high tea and afternoon tea, how people kept mistaking high tea for proper eloquent afternoon tea; while wannabe individuals mistaken afternoon tea was being mistaken as commoner tea time (you tried not to outright oust your own noble at who demanded why was not it not high tea because only nobles could enjoy the height of tea time).
As time passed and you two became closer, the two of you working together to improve on your weaknesses and flaws to be better, Ferdinand spoke something over tea one day.
“You are not a noble, but I daresay you would do well as one.”
You tried not to blush at the compliment as you sipped your tea to avoid sputtering something ridiculous. You did not miss his eyes turning warm and gentle over the rim of his cup.
So it hurted your heart when Edelegard and her empire declare war on the Church of Seiros and those affiliated. You still remembered Ferdinand protecting you and commanding the soldiers of the Adrestian Army to stand down. You were only given a brief moment of time for Ferdinand to wish you well, asking you to stay out of the war, before he left.
Unfortunately, you only were pulled into the war when Edelegard’s war reached your hometown, forcing you to defend you and your loved ones. You only thanked the training you got from Professor Byleth with the Blue Lions that you were able to take charge and fight back. It didn’t help that the noble family in charge of your land had rebellion within, and siding with the Adrestian Army.
Joining the rest of the Blue Lions right around the Millenium festival and while you were glad the professor was back, you were faced with your lack of ability to recall names once again.
You still managed somehow, even when the Professor put you in charge of a Battalion but by the goddess, but you would not like the responsibility please and thank you.
You thought you could get through the war without your secret coming out, but it all came to a head at the Great Bridge of Myrddin. You were chasing after Aecheron with a couple soldiers as he was both running away while also being a persistent annoyance as he commanded his soldiers to cover his back, casting reasoning spells from the safety of knights.
“Halt!” you heard and your brain froze at the familiar voice. You froze too long but moved just in time to see a spear making its way to you and you dodged it.
Your heart hammered against your chest and froze as you looked up to see the man you had thought for so many years. Your eyes locked with this as he seemed to rear back in shock.
His name tumbled out of his noble mouth and stuttered unike a noble should be. “W-Why are you here?”
“I joined the Kingdom of Faerghus, Ferdinand…it was the only choice” you explained as you prepared your weapon.
“Faerghus…? Why would you go against the Empire?”
“I didn’t have a choice Ferdinand” you tried to say levelly, but your voice shook. “The noble house of my land had a rebellion. They were going to execute anyone who was in the service of the previous head-”
“You mean-? They could’ve not- I told them not to-” he started as he realized. You were in the service of your noble back at the academy and that meant you were to be executed to clean up loose ends.
“Is that the Empire you choose to serve Ferdinand? One that chooses to dispose of others just based on correlation?”
“I- No! Of course not!” he said.
“Then please step aside Ferdinand. We just want to take back the Great Bridge so the Alliance doesn’t have to bow to the Adrestian Empire with an Axe above their necks” you said.
“I…I cannot choose. I have a duty.”
“But not their noble duty” you forced out.
Ferdinand stared at you for a moment longer, and just as he was about to lower his spear-
A blast of magic just hit Ferdinand’s horse, who fidgety bucked off Ferdinand and ran, but the force of the magic hit it against the wall. Ferdinand was tumbling and there was smoke as you yelled his name.
You coughed at the dust, and waved away the smoke, just to see the slippery bastard from before as he had his wand ready, poised over Ferdinand.
“The Prime minister’s son faltering to a commoner? What a fool!” he chortled as Ferdinand was holding his dominant arm that did not look well. “Perhaps her majesty the Emperor will be delighted to hear that I disposed her prime minister is conferring with the enemy. What a sad example of a noble!”
“No Ferdie!” yelled someone somewhere in the distance and noise.
Ferdinand had downcast eyes and rage consumed you. You readied your weapon and your hand blazed with magic. You rushed forward, the Levin sword in your hand crackling with power that shot down thunder between Ferdinand and Acheron, who yelped.
You slid between them and kicked Acheron in the chest, who stumbled with a squeal. He looked up at first disgruntled before in terror, who let out whimpers, scooching backwards pitifully, hand raised to use thunder.
You stood between him and Ferdinand. He watched as you raised your weapon above your head, as it was ready to bring down at Acheron. With the sun breaking through the cloudy sky as it shone behind your visage, his breath hitched as it looked like you were bringing holy judgement.
“You are not only a fool, but a blind one if you cannot see who he is! He is Ferdinand Von Aegir, the Noblest man of Fodlan!!” You roared, throwing all of your energy into the swing, your power in magic reinforced with your anger overtaking Acheron’s thunder.
Thunder boomed, cracking and shaking the ground, darkening everything for a moment. You stared above the crater that laid Acheron’s body and everyone was staring at you with wide eyes. Everything seemed to pause before the Professor spoke.
“Lorenz, Ferdinand. It would be best if you joined us” they said as Lorenz sputtered in surprise before agreeing to join. This caused confusion and conflict as the battle continued-
You turned to Ferdinand, and remembered he was injured.
Ferdinand stared up at you, taking in the form of your back as you held your sword and posture, keeping anyone who dared to look at you two wrong. The wind was blowing through your hair, the light shining behind your eyes as you stood gallantly. He felt his face heat up and didn’t protest as the Blue Lions rescued him. He could only watch you fight with valor and intensity as Mercedes and Flayn helped heal him.
The battle had won for Faerghus taking back control of the Great Bridge. Everyone was excited and cheering over their victory. It was only fueled with the revival and re-appearance of Dedue, as well as Lorenz and Ferdinand joining their ranks.
“How are you holding up Ferdinand” you asked him whilst turning to you.
Now that the adrenaline and stress was dying down, you finally got a good look at Ferdinand. His orange hair was now long tresses and while he seemed to present himself as collected, you noticed the slight bangs under his eyes, his hands fiddling the edge of his glove while it also twirled and tugged at his long tresses as a habit of nervousness.
Although Ferdinand presented himself as a noble that was still open, he still guarded himself of his tells that he was nervous or stressed because there were nobles who would nitpick and tear the seams apart.
Ferdinand yelped out your name, clearly off guard. “Oh! I didn’t hear you approach!” his voice high, before he cleared his throat to get it back under control. “My arm is much better. Mercedes and Flayn were excellent so it should be no problem…though they did advise me to take it easy for a while.”
You hummed in acknowledgement but gestured to him, “And mentally? How’ve you been holding up?”
Ferdinand startled at the question as he felt himself tumbling over his words. Not much like a promising successor to being the Prime Minister of the Adrestian Empire- well, former successor. “I…what, what you could you ever mean my friend?”
You looked down where he was sitting, right on the cold stone pavement, staining his pants. Even if they were in battle for missions, even when they were all dirty from fighting bandits, Ferdinand would always find a place to sit then sit on the ground. Something being unbefitting to sit on the dirt as a noble.
“Can I sit?” you asked as Ferdinand blinked.
“Of course!”
You nodded as you sat beside him. Not too close but close enough your shoulders could lean against the other. You sat together in silence for a moment, watching your other comrades and friends mingling together in the near distance. Some were checking on the other, some where handling the post battle logistics, and some were going here and there.
“You grew out your hair” you noted out loud.
Ferdinand jolted and cleared his throat, preventing another shaky voice. “Ah yes. It’s not because of vanity sake. To tell the truth, I never got to cutting it due to the stress and time dedicating my every waking moment to the war that Edelgard announced.”
Your mind flashed back to when Ferdinand rushed over to stop the Empire soldiers from attacking you when they invaded Garreg Mach all those years ago. His sense of self as a noble and to perform his noble duty still held on to this day. You looked at him as he tugged at the fringes of his hair and with the setting sun, the orange glow seemed to highlight his auburn hair, the long tresses adding to the light.
“Well…long hair or not, I like you regardless. You’re still Ferdinand Von Aegir” you said.
Ferdinand’s head whipped to look at you so fast that you flinched with wide eyes. You stared at his face turned red, as he looked at you with shock and astonishment. “You..You do?”
Before you could reply, you heard a deep intake of a gasp and you both turned to see Dorothea about to squeal in excitement, with the rest of the Blue Lions behind her, watching you two with great variation of interest. Even Dimitri, who was looking at you with the corner of his eye.
Before you could inquire what they were doing, Dorothea started rambling and Ferdinand got to his feet so fast, you were worried his arm was going to pop off, trying to intercept Dorothea.
“Oh my goddess Ferdie! I didn’t know the two of you were dating!”
“Dorothea, please! They only just confessed!” pleaded Ferdinand, trying to stop Dorothea but because of his gentlemen and noble nature, didn’t want to place his hands carelessly on a lady without permission. You didn’t catch what the two had just said, because their voices were overlapping and you were more focused on the others.
Dorothea used this to her advantage as she ducked away from him and went up to you, grasping your hands. “Tell me all the details, since when did you like Ferdie?”
“Uhhh” you said dumbly and you were looking between her and Ferdinand, who was being surrounded by others as well and looking embarrassed but also interested. “I think it started when he introduced himself as Ferdinand Von Aegir.”
Everyone groaned and nodded while Ferdinand looked sheepish.
You continued, “I was just a commoner, following the noble family I was serving. Despite my experience with…certain nobles, Ferdinand showed me respect and we started talking, we just…became friends?”
“That’s all? There must be more than that” pouted Dorothea.
“Give me some credit please. I can’t remember people’s names so Ferdinand was the first friend I made without struggling to remember his name! So sue me!” you blurted out in frustration before you realized you revealed your greatest secret. You clasp your hands over your mouth in shock, sweating at the incoming reaction.
“Oh we all know that” said Dorothea.
“Wait what” you fumbled.
“It wasn’t that hard to find out” she said. “You looked so cute trying to remember our names!”
“But- how long? Why haven’t any of you said anything?”
“Well…we figured you didn’t want us to know. Plus, we knew you were trying your best to remember so we knew you didn’t forget our names on purpose. Besides, it was cute when you used nicknames for us- OUCH-” Sylvain chuckle was cut off from a swift jab to the ribs by Ingrid.
“Besides, it was cute seeing Ferdie deliberately repeat his “I am Ferdinand Von Aegir” whenever you were around and seeing your face light up.”
“I-” you looked at Ferdinand who smiled even more sheepishly as he scratched the back of his neck.
“I…must also reveal that I knew as well,” he admitted while you gaped at him like a fish. “You seemed not only relieved, but also excited whenever I said my name and I couldn’t help being excited as well. I never had such a reaction, even as time passed.”
You felt your face heat up with a warm mix of embarrassment, shame, and oddly relief.
“Then you aren’t, weren’t…frustrated with me?”
“No! Of course not! Why would we be?” Ferdinand frantically said.
“Well…back in my hometown, my shortcomings were known since I was born, and while they understood, I would catch whispers of frustration and pity. I thought-”
Ferdinand grasped your hands and you jolted as he called out your full name.
“Perish the thought! You are an exemplary person and have shown me nothing but characteristics I consider noble. If anyone ever disapproves of you because of something you can’t control, I, Ferdinand Von Aegir will be there to tell them!”
You stared at him for a moment, as your lips twisted in a horrible attempt to stop smiling. Ferdinand realized he had said his name again, looked sheepish which made you burst out giggling.
“Awwww” cooed “everyone behind you and your face and Ferdinand’s faces flushed red.
Byleth smiled as they realized they should probably get things moving along. But how? Oh-
“It makes a lot of sense now why you keep calling me ‘Professor’. Perhaps others have also forgotten my name and insist on calling me Professor because of it” they point out thoughtfully.
All the Blue Lions turned to them in disbelief as they realized their own blunder before turning to Byleth as they talked over themselves to disprove that wasn’t the case at all Professor! Even Dimitri seemed to be lost for words and seemed to struggle, fighting his current demeanor and there was that peek of the old Dimitri.
You and Ferdinand could only watch in confusion, and over the sea of heads, you saw Byleth wink as you realized. You made an “Oh” and nodded in thanks to them.
Now the heat of eyes weren’t on you anymore, you felt very waned.
Today has been a day.
“[y/n]” called out Ferdinand softly and you turned to him. He had a serious yet soft look in his eyes as he stared at you. “From what I was said before, I greatly cherish the time we first met, and especially as we became friends. I enjoy your presence and accept all of you as you accepted me, even now as you helped rescue me despite joining the Empire, I am forever grateful. Thank you, [y/n].”
As he bowed, you fumbled with your words. “You don’t need to do that Ferdinand. I feel the same way, and even when the war started, I always thought of you and I’m glad I was here to see you again and make sure you were safe.”
Ferdinand beamed at you. “So I am…I don’t know how this war will go but I cannot stand by as a noble and let Edelgard do as she pleases. I see that now. The future may be unsteady but with you my friend, I feel a great deal braver.”
You smiled and you saw Ferdinand blush, his face turning bashful. “And…when this war is over, maybe….we can see if we can be more than friends?”
You widen your eyes at him as you stammer, face growing red again. “Like…as close friends or ?”
“Either which with whatever you are comfortable! I’m not sure myself as well at the moment, but whether as friends or as a lover, I would like you to be by my side and in my life.”
You stared at him for a moment, before you smiled. “I would like that, Ferdinand von Aegir.”
He beamed bright and you swear he looked like a happy puppy. “Truly? I promise to you, as Ferdinand von Aegir, I will always be by your side, as a friend or more.”

Waking up with Claude is somewhat odd, but certainly not unwelcome. He's used to waking up at the asscrack of dawn, both from his years in Almyra and his war years succeeding his time at Garreg Mach. It's not uncommon to be awoken by the scratching of his quill on parchment, sending letters to the other nobles of the Alliance. Or conversations just outside the door with underlings or old school friends.
Mornings like this one, however, are your favorite. There's no indication as to what has woken you, but Claude's fingers scratch gently against your scalp, head in his lap as he leans against the large headboard of your shared bed. He'd reading; you can vaguely hear the pages turn somewhere off to your left. It doesn't quite matter what all he's doing, though; you drift back to sleep with his fingers still in your hair.

But anyways just because Byleth doesn't show or feel emotions all that much himself.
That doesn't mean he can't see when others are feeling down and need some help.
Byleth is a great listener and many people go to him if they ever feel troubled or need to get something off their chest.
This also includes you! You are very important to Byleth and he always wants to make sure you are doing well physically and emotionally.
He's told you that you can go to him if you are ever feeling troubled and you aren't a bother to him.
It's not good to bottle up emotions even if it's positive or negative so Byleth is there for you if you ever need him.
Byleth is a very observant man for example during tea time with him he'll notice your positive or negative reactions to the tea he gives you.
If you act a certain way such as being bubbly and cheerfully but other times action sad and distraught he would take notice right away.
He would make sure you are feeling okay as you are his top priority and he cares for you above all else.
He can take you to have some tea with him or just to cuddle with him whatever makes you feel better.
Just know Byleth loves and cares about you! ♡
Shez
Once again I must say I love this man with all my heart he's just amazing and I love him.
Shez unlike Byleth shows a lot more emotions and in general, is more expensive.
Can see him just kissing the back of your hand like a knight saying how lucky is he to have such a wonderful prince/princess.
Shez would never judge you and I mean never no matter what he'll always love and care for you.
He'll never leave your side even in battle he'll always be right there with you side by side.
So you know how I'd say he'd kiss the back of your hand like a knight? He'd carry you in a princess style while kissing you on the cheek.
If you are very feeling an emotion like sadness Shez will do whatever he can to cheer you up!
One time he was bringing you some food but then he tripped over his foot and the food went everywhere.
You couldn't ask for more with Shez being in your life with him by your side. You know that both of you will be there for each and ready to face any challenge.
Just remember Shez loves you a lot and won't stop telling you that and how much he cares for you. ♡
May I request some Sylvain headcanons? How would he react to reader crush who's avoiding him like the plague? Maybe he asked them out to hang out "as friends, nothing serious haha" but he might have kinda forgotten about some other chic he was seeing at the time (oops) and now crush got unintentionally roped up into dumb drama and wants nothing to do with it. Cue the cold shoulder. Maybe this would work best pre-timeskip, Sylv was more of a mess then 😅
{Hello! This is extraordinarily late. I really have no excuse. I hope you like it if you’re still in the fandom!}
Master-list: Here
Is it bold to assume that he expects to be avoided? He is the king of self-sabotage after all. Especially if we are talking pre-timeskip.
He’s a womanizer. He takes pride in it. Anyone who’s his type would be disgusted by the behavior
He talks the talk of wanting to be a forever bachelor, but we all know that’s a sham. He wants stability, he wants loyalty, he wants kindness...basically, if you’re what he wants then he’s going to push you away intentionally to save you from himself
So...yeah. He has no problem with his crush avoiding him. He’s convinced it will pass so long as you’re happy. He’s content being on the side, even though his close friends say otherwise
Aka. Felix picked up on what he was doing and laid down the hard blows. Basically told Sylvain he was a child. Pfft. As if he would be any different
Felix would do worse in his position, but Sylvain holds the thought in to avoid being pummeled
It takes Ingrid’s threats to make him try and attempt being friends again. Something about how he was jeopardizing the ‘team effort’ by letting you ‘sulk’
He felt there was more to it than that, but he didn’t want to press. Not to respect it, but more so because he didn’t want to know the answer
It’s one thing if you were ignoring him from how he acts. That’s fine.
but he--he doesn’t want to hurt your feelings.
He’s not stupid. He’s painfully aware of how you stare during class
how you take a step towards his table at lunch, before shaking your head and choosing somewhere else
how the one time Lorenz went too far, calling him a disappointment to nobles and tossing in a comment about his brother...you became enraged.
So angry he could see veins popping out of your neck
Lorenz earned a bruise the same color as his hair, it was awesome
He only ever saw that level of anger from Felix. Needless to say, surprises were bountiful that day.
He turned a blind eye to it all, until now. After pining for so long and then ignoring him, he was shocked you accepted his invitation to eat lunch
“Heyyy (Y/N)? Want to grab a bite to eat? Been a while since we’ve seen each other and that’s not good for friends, don’t you think?”
Ignoring Ingrid who may have been watching, he did his best to sound natural
He didn’t miss you wince when he leaned on your shoulder, or the way you stepped back at his emphasis on ‘friend’
He also seemingly “forgot” that he was supposed to have lunch with his latest hookup. He definitely wasn’t planning to have them interrupt, cutting your time together short and getting Ingrid off his back. Possibly making you hate him in the process and eliminating any chance he had with you in the future
He was planning it. Just so we’re clear
and boy did Sylvain love to self-sabotage. The hollow feeling in his heart was well deserved, which he confirmed when everything happened according to plan.
You both were eating lunch in the courtyard. Him making small talk, and you uncharacteristically silent. Not too far along comes his latest partner, mad at him for being so forgetful and even cheating on them. He took his opportunity
“Cheating on you with them!? Are you serious!? They’re just a friend, chill out,”
It was done. He committed the ultimate friendzone without fault. The way his partner looked at him in horror was also expected, but their shock wasn’t directed his way.
Why weren’t they looking-?
“Are my feelings a game to you? Do you like making people feel like smeared shit on the bottom of your shoe?”
The way you shook next to him. Your head down and hands crushing the drink in your grasp. He almost expected you to throw it at him, but instead your hands caught water. Droplets fell at a rhythmic pace.
“Did you seriously ask me to lunch when you already had plans? After not talking to me for weeks?! After treating me like I was never your friend?! I know you have a hard time being honest with yourself. I know you don’t like people who’re pushy, so I held back talking first,” they throw their cup onto the floor, standing to glare at him. They purse their lips, trying to barricade their next words yet failing horribly, “but this?! You have me awake for endless nights wondering if I did something wrong and then you use me for petty drama?”
They do the last thing he’d expect, and grab his newest ex by the arm. Before he can process a defense they’re both walking away, with his ‘friend’ furiously wiping at their eyes
“You can’t even give your partner a proper breakup. I knew you were bad, but not that bad,” they halt, turning to look over their shoulder, “I can’t believe I thought you cared about me. I...you know what, you don’t get to hear the rest,”
and you both were gone.
It was the afternoon bell that pulled him from his stupor. He knew that meant class was starting, yet Sylvain didn’t want to go.
Yet he also didn’t want to just sit around. So he forced himself to do what he does best, pretend whatever just happened never occurred
Hours go by, and then some days. He hasn’t heard from his ex once, which was rare since they normally try to reconcile at least once. As for you? It was the same cold shoulder as the past few weeks, except this time was different
You didn’t stare at him during lessons
You didn’t take one step towards his lunch table before turning away
You didn’t defend him when Ingrid gave him a nasty bruise on his cheek, or when Dorothea called him vile
You just...didn’t? He got exactly what he wanted. You did nothing, as if he never existed and your friendship never happened
and yet- he didn’t feel the relief that he expected. He wasn’t happy that you moved on, and every time you laughed his latest meal felt it was about to be re-plated
Your feelings - his crush. They were never the burden he made them appear to be
When he tries to sleep it off, all his brain would conjure is a crushed cup. Trembling fingers digging into tin, their tips changing color from pressure. Droplets of water trickling from thin air and falling on top.
Your feelings were a game to him. One that he lost from the start
He lays in bed, arm over his eyes and lets his tears fall
synopsis: felix can’t shake off the sour feeling he gets when he sees you dancing with dimitri at the ball. afterwards, he’s met with more certainty for the future when the two of you find yourselves at the goddess tower.
a/n: first time writing for fire emblem let’s gooooo ;D
--
“well would you look at that,” sylvain crosses his arms behind his head, glancing at you and dimitri dancing in the middle of the ballroom. all eyes were naturally on the two of you, having long-awaited the crown prince of faerghus to take the floor. all except for felix, who scoffed in advance of sylvain getting his words out. “he’s a lucky man for sure.”
the blue-haired boy put his hands on his hips. “of course you would fall for the boar’s act. this was one of the many reasons i didn’t want to attend this damn ball in the first place.”
felix wasn’t lying. if it weren’t for the professor’s pleas, he would’ve spent the night training as usual, in complete solitude. especially after seeing that you surely weren’t alone, evident from how you leaned in closer to dimitri to whisper in his ear and laughed in unison with him.
“hey c’mon. you have to admit that they do look pretty good together.”
“you’re just projecting. i’m sure you’d be trying to woo the boar’s partner right now if they hadn’t already gotten swept up.”
sylvain ignores the opportunity for banter when he suddenly goes off on a tangent about how byleth ‘irrevocably changed [his] life’ and how they might actually be soulmates. he then spots her from across the hall and leaves felix alone to ask for a dance. although he felt bad for their professor, he’d settle for his childhood best friend bothering someone else over embarrassing him any day.
the goddess tower seemed like a much better place to be than this suffocating lovesickness. cold, empty, and away from the crowd. even if the training grounds were locked, he could still take the time to reflect on his next steps for the future. there were plenty of people he still had to surpass, and that included you. while you were busy swaying away with dimitri, he’d be getting stronger, the mental preparation making him all the more agile to sweep you off your feet by surprise.
that was it. felix would begrudgingly stay for 10 more minutes in case byleth had come looking for him, and then leave. he figured he might as well grab some refreshments to give him strength too.
“hey!” felix hides his surprise upon seeing you in line for drinks at the same time as him with a blank stare. “where have you been all night? dimitri and i were looking for you.”
“really? sure didn’t look like it earlier.” he really didn’t want to hear dimitri’s name right now. their friendship remained severed for years, but his blood had never ran colder from just hearing his name until it rolled off of your tongue so frivolously.
“oh,” you turn away with a sheepish smile. “yeah but don’t get the wrong idea. it’s just that...it’s traditional for the house leaders to begin dancing promptly..”
felix takes a sip of his newly acquired drink. “spare the details. this is enough proof that i will get stronger than you. you’re out here wasting your time with dances and romance, and i am going to continue to surpass you in the sword and in the way of the warrior.”
to anyone else, felix would be asking for an argument. he was always picking fights with everyone who challenged him, either verbally, or physically (through sparring). since the beginning of the school year, you have watched him stick to his principles, which at first did not appear to include caring for relationships. but after witnessing how he discreetly watches over his friends, and not too long before the grand ball, asked you to join him to try a new technique during training, there was something underneath his disappointment with you.
“nonetheless, don’t stay out too late. we have a big mission coming up and i’d be annoyed if you got sick. i’m leaving.”
“felix wait!” your voice shakes, but you remain firm.
“what? make it quick.” he frowns. the last thing he needs right now is you feigning sympathy for him and begging him to stay longer. he was already mere seconds away for abandoning his feelings for you right then and there without turning back.
“all this talk about getting stronger....you know you can’t do that all alone, right?”
“there’s no one out there who could keep up with me at this point,” felix scoffs. “what? are you trying to say you’re up to honing your disciplines now?”
you roll your eyes. “i always have been. if i have to follow you to wherever could be more enticing than bonding with my classmates and friends than so be it.”
“fine. it’s not my job to hold you accountable for your word anyway.”
--
“staring off into space and brooding isn’t really ‘mental training’, felix.” you chide, causing him to scowl down at the brilliant view of the monastery from the goddess tower.
you were already feeling anxious about the implications of being alone with him in a secluded place like this. a secluded place with legends of promises of romance and hopes for the future for most people who found themselves in pairs of two at the heights of the monastery.
felix has no words to offer in objection to your implied definition of interpersonal reflection. alas, the lack of conversation leaves you with the sound of crickets. surprising, how the most minute of white noise could either help you relax or be even louder than your own thoughts.
“though, i can’t really blame you for taking in the world from above,” you join him on the balcony, arms crossed over the handrail. “the night sky in the mountains is clearer than the eroded dark skies during the winters of faerghus.”
“i don’t dislike the night. i’ve never been afraid of the dark, any alleged demons that came out would be cut down anyway. speaking of which, we could spar here sometime. there’s a lot more privacy than the training grounds.”
you can’t comprehend how felix could dance around, yet so explicitly express his desire to be alone with you. diving into the dangerous waters of teasing him, you grin mischievously.
“and you’re always going on and on about how dense dimitri is.” you murmur.
“ugh! if you have something to say, it’s better to not mumble, you know?” felix scoffs, a hair’s away from falling for whatever scheme you had up your sleeve in bringing up the prince. “whatever. i don’t want to waste my time prying into something so unimportant that you couldn’t even say it clearly.”
whenever he fires off the cannon of a tongue he was born with, you always have to study his expression. you didn’t expect to end up making direct eye contact with a person who dislikes it, his orange orbs complimenting the galaxies above.
“do you know why i train with you, felix?” you ask.
“no, i do not know. you want to become stronger right?” he exhales, shaking his head as he shrugs with his arms up.
“yeah, that’s a big reason. but also,” now comes the true gamble. no one else would dare to poke a bear, or in this case, a lone wolf. you were probably the first person in years to tenderly touch his cheek the way you did, and without him flinching away.
he could’ve pushed you away. but did he really want to take that risk when you could go back to the ball and cry on dimitri’s shoulder? for the first time, felix suppresses the urge to stay in the shadows, and grants you the honor of pulling him out.
“i admire the strength of your entire being. particularly in your eyes....they’re just like stars. whenever they twinkle passionately on the battlefield or during training, i feel all of my wishes coming true. the legendary powers of this tower don’t even come close to the hope you fill me with.” you gently caress his soft skin under your thumb.
felix is worried. he’s worried that he won’t be able to savor the feeling of your warm hand any longer, as he’s about to melt from your declaration alone. it’s hard for him to process any form of affection, especially when it’s from his beloved partner in battle.
wait, beloved?
“y-you..!” felix grumbles, his voice cracking as he chokes out the last syllable. he reaches for your wrist, wanting to move your hand away. but he lets it linger, clinging onto you for support. you were the one who caused this mess, it’s your job to fix it.
“you okay?” he hates how innocently you blurt out the question, looking at him through your eyelashes.
“no! i mean, you can’t just say things like that so suddenly!” he facepalms with his other hand. “just...but don’t go anywhere okay?”
you snort under your breath and both of you withdraw your hands. “noted. we might as well get in some dance practice, though. after all i only got to dance with dimitri before you-”
“stop talking about dimitri.” felix snaps. “you’ve mentioned the boar enough for one night, give it a rest already.”
you laugh in disbelief, not because you’re mad at him. you just never would’ve expected your hypothesis to be true.
“i was right. you are jealous after all.” felix blushes. he hates having been caught so easily, but is also relieved that you understand his feelings.
“shut up. now, what’s this dance practice you were talking about?”
you guide felix’s hands and posture into the appropriate positions, based on professor byleth’s brief private instruction on dance. to this day, you don’t know why you were chosen as the class’ representative for the white heron cup, but your fifteen minutes of fame came in handy for wooing the swordsman in front of you.
“well,” you take the lead, as the two of you sway in sync and he grows less stiff as you squeeze his hand. “balance, concentration, chemistry between allies...these are all things you’ll need in battle. you’d do best to focus on other things other than the training dummy that you’ve beaten to the ground, literally.”
“tch.” felix turns away from you, albeit keeping his grip firm on you. “i don’t dislike that idea. if it makes you happy.” his last sentence is void of his usual sarcastic and dry tone, and replaced with a gentleness that you could get used to.
you wish to capture this moment forever. however short-lived just one dance may be, you both vow to live for another one.
Summary: Yuri as a roommate in general, as a platonic roommate and as a romantic roommate,
[ General ]
Yuri as a roommate is an odd experience because he barely lets you know anything about him aside from what he has shown you. Yuri is fashionable and has a small group of friends, and is such a late-night owl that when he greets you in the morning is the time Yuri is going to bed as you get up.
He is strict as a roommate. Chores are divided but if someone makes a mess they have to clean it up regardless if it is on their chore list. No parties in the shared apartment because Yuri doesn’t trust people to not go through his room although he is fine with going to parties in other places.
But the major rule is that neither of you is allowed to involve yourself in the other’s personal life unless invited. The only time that it’s allowed is if you or he is bringing someone over and you text each other to let the other know.
Once the two of you are closer and hang out, it will have to be in the afternoon as anything earlier makes Yuri want to die. You have to remember Yuri is a night owl through and through. As such becoming closer, you meet Yuri’s friends and spend time with them whenever invited along. It’s at this point that Yuri is bringing you more into his own private life.
[ Platonic ]
Originally Yuri didn’t let you in his bedroom, but after time together, Yuri started to leave his door open whenever he was awake as a silent invitation to let you know that you’re welcome. However, Yuri rarely hangs out in your bedroom less directly asked to come into your room which results in a laugh.
If there are days or nights when neither of you nor Yuri want to be alone, often both of you will hang out in the living room with some background white noise. Most times the white noise is a boring movie or TV show that plays in the background as you talk to each other long into the night.
On the subject of movies, every Sunday has become the official movie and game night tradition. It started due to being snowed in on a bad snowstorm in December late Sunday afternoon, trapping Yuri with you. Neither can remember who suggested movies and games but it had been the only way to pass the time. It had been so enjoyable that it became a weekend night routine.
If neither of you is in the mood for movies, board games are the other pick. Typically Uno or Go-fish as the default choices because those are Yuri's favorite. Partly due to your reactions being hilarious to him.
[ Romantic ]
On very late nights beyond your typical sleep time for one reason or another, Yuri keeps you company. Those very late nights are when he is most open with you. The first night it happened you had accidentally fallen asleep only to wake up with a blanket placed over you that was not there before.
Whenever it happened again, as it tended to, the blanket Yuri put on you would end up being replaced by his jacket. If you say something first, Yuri will never pay attention to his actions.
It's unknown to you but some of Yuri's friends will tease or make jokes about his behavior about how you get special treatment. With movie nights, how Yuri remembers what you like and dislikes, and that he had given you his favorite jacket. Yuri will roll his eyes and lie about how it’s not that deep, but a soft smile that Yuri tries to hide will show up on days whenever he catches sight of you wearing the jacket.
When the time comes for Yuri to act on his feelings it’s hard for you to tell because he didn’t behave too differently as before. Granted the choice of flirtatious phrases would normally give it away if Yuri didn’t subconsciously treat you the same as before.
Yuri’s not aware how he had acted previously with the kind actions, the affectionate way Yuri talked to you nor his gentle touches brushing against your skin. Part of it is frustrating yet still amusing by the fact you hadn’t caught on.
