Beauty marks were said to be the remnants of where your past lover kissed you the most. It was a lovely idea, that someone had loved you so reverently in the past that it managed to leave an imprint as dots that littered your skin. And how lucky were you? To have someone in this lifetime love you just as, if not more devotedly. Lips connecting imaginary lines as they silently vowed to kiss each and every mark that was scattered across you.
You're not sure what you did to deserve this all consuming love, but you were sure to give it back, after all, you wanted to make sure new marks dotted their skin in their next life.

“you are divinely bound to her! how am i supposed to compete with that?”
your shaking finger points at the boy with too many burdens. the boy constantly reborn. the boy you love but was never destined to love you.
“everyone knows it. you know it.” you shake your hands out, clapping your hands together like in prayer. your voice assumes the tone of a preachy, begrudging narrator. “goddess hylia, together, with her hero, sealed the great evil away. she loved and trusted her hero so much, she granted him eternal rebirth alongside her in her mortal form. they would reunite over lifetimes as the goddess-blooded princess and reborn hero.”
you’ve heard the legend too many times in school. the kingdom anthem is interlaced with excerpts of his good deeds. imagery of the hero in green was memorialized in stained glass, following his many adventures. as the child of one of his many followers and raised in a temple that worshipped hylia and her hero, you led the reading of his stories during service.
you grew up with him watching over you. he glowed in the form of stained glass. the only similarity you shared, even now, was that you were both hylia's servants. he was the sort of servant that was made timeless in glass, and you were the servant that praised him and his goddess. he was hylia's favourite servant, and in some lifetimes, lover.
you have no place in his story.
“i’m not him.” link’s voice sounds of bells, but it doesn’t have its reassuring bounce. it’s tight, and so is the way his face twists. “i'm not him. i share a spirit with him, but i’m not him. i was never him.”
link makes a tentative step forward.
you'd have to scrub away at the muddied footprints he leaves in the temple's carpet.
“i have my own thoughts. i have my own feelings. i have my own ideas.”
if you weren't burning hotter than din's fire, you'd read the deep downturn of his mouth; the drooping of his ears; how softly he speaks. you were raised to read him; know him. you praised him every seventh day in front of your uncle’s congregation.
“since meeting you, i have thought: where are you now? are you pressing your flowers? when is the next time i can see you?”
link steps closer more confidently now. you match his pace, walking backwards, the front altar with the goddess statue drawing closer and closer to your back.
“when i first met you, you scared me. you knew more about me than i did. i didn’t meet your expectations of what the hero should have been. you told me everything i should’ve been. you proved my insecurities right: i was no hero.”
it feels like a fist closes around your heart. “i had no idea. i’m so sorry.” you’re breathless. you stress your “no” and “so.” you hurt him.
link’s expression only reads as forgiveness. “but you and i know better now. we know each other better now.”
for a moment, link’s voice breaks. “the songs. the scriptures.” he blinks rapidly, freezing in his footsteps. the goddess statue is an inch from your back. even thought it doesn’t touch you, it feels cold. “i’m sorry they hurt you in my name. i’m sorry that they punished you for not following their rules. rules they based on me.”
you must be the dutiful image of the hero, your uncle’s scriptures read. some denominations of the worshipping of hylia were more radical than others, some going as far as punishing those that didn’t abide by the virtues of hylia’s favourite servant.
living under your uncle’s roof wasn’t a happy one.
“i want to say,” link begins, “that you do not need to compete with the princess.”
your eyes flick left and right, searching each one of his eyes. his eyes aren’t as blue as they note in the scriptures. there are flecks of yellow and green in the flood of pale blue encircled with a ring of black. when he cries, his eyes are even bluer with the red of his sclerae. why is he crying now?
“after getting to know you, you make me feel warm, listened to, appreciated.” he fiddles with his glove. “you listen, you comfort, you help me, but i haven’t helped you.”
“i want to see you every day. i want to get to know you better every day. i want to know your passions. what your life is beyond the scripture. this house.”
link gestures to the temple. the very temple you grew up in, scrubbing its walls and floors, dusting its pews, staring hard at the hero in stained glass. where was he? you behind the scripture?
“i don’t think there’s much about to learn about besides my life in scripture.”
link shakes his with a small smile. “then why do you press your flowers? why do you study the sky?”
he dares to move a little closer. you dare to let him reach you.
“the princess: i love her. she’s funny and snorts, but we do not like each other in that way.”
“there is no competition for my heart. my heart is yours.”
but the scripture writes that your spirit is hylia’s; your heart is link’s.
“your heart can’t be mine,” you correct. “my heart is yours.”
link edges closer. “that’s the only part of the scripture that’s right, but i’ll only have it if you let me.”
it would be difficult to love someone whose soul belongs to a goddess, but you have his heart, at least in this lifetime.
Can I have an adult link x reader where after he finishes rearranging the readers guts, they’re just talking and giggling and he randomly looks at her with the warmest eyes and asks if she’ll marry him?
You know things are over when he falls to your side with an unceremonious ‘thud.’
The bed bounces as soon as Link’s body makes contact with the surface. And you’re left giggling at the surprising amount of air you were able to get with the sheer force of his flop. Although that mischievous look in his eye tells you that he may or may not have put a little bit more force behind his fall than you initially anticipated. Ever the jokester when it comes to you, of course.
The two of you had finished a little while ago. Minutes ago, really. But even then, it feels like you’re still trying to catch your breath as your heart beat finally decides to slow. And part of your brain is still registering from the ghost of his heated touches from when he was having his way with you- desperately trying to catch up and finish up once he heard your orgasm was edging closer and closer and closer. It worked, of course. All his efforts (and yours) paid off. The two of you finished together. Together, together.
Together, with fingers threaded between each other as he coaxed through the brutal pace he was using to fuck you through your orgasm. Together, with his forehead against yours as he murmured all types of compliments and pretty words of praise as you wrapped your legs around his waist, as you whined and whimpered and screamed for him and his cock to take you higher- higher than you’ve ever been before. Together, as he emptied his balls inside of you with a deep, deep groan and a body that could barely hold itself above you after going at it for so, so very long.
But that was then. That was a couple of minutes ago. When the primal part of your brain was still taking the lead. When all you think about is how good he was making you feel and how much- how badly you wanted him and only him. That was then.
But now?
Now, the energy you both once had is spent. Now, he’s lying beside you on the bed the two of you share as you both spread across blankets and sheets and covers that have long since been ruined with all your…well…rolling around in the sheets. Now, your eyes are meeting his tender gaze, and your lips are meeting his own with kisses that are softer than softer in between quiet moments of chatter about things that don’t really matter.
Now, your legs are tangled between each other. And your fingers are brushing the skin of his jaw while his are trailing down your chest, grabbing and squeezing at your chest with a relaxed group. Almost as if the two of you are discovering each other for the first time, all over again.
It makes you happy, you realize. It makes you so unbelievably happy to be like this. Happy to be together. Together, together.
This isn’t a completely new feeling. It’s not foreign. It’s not uncommon. It’s not even unnatural to you. Because in your eyes, it comes naturally to be at peace with moments like this. It comes naturally to feel so in love during moments like this. But you never thought about it so deeply before now. You never sat with your thoughts in a slow, lovely little silence with the one you love in a moment like this. You never took the time to see just how instantly the love filters in when the lust fades away. Not after sex. Not like this.
And you know…you know you should be going to clean up right about now. You should be going to pee, grabbing down, and wiping yourself down. Hell, you should already be drawing yourself a bath and getting ready to bathe the ‘mess’ away. You know you both should be. Because any minute now, you’ll feel cum still lazily leaking out from your pussy, and you’ll start whining to Link about how it’s starting to dry. And any minute now, Link will try to talk you into cleaning his limp cock up with your tongue- even though you both know he’ll be too sensitive and too needy to handle what you’ll inevitably end up giving to him.
But he’s busy. He’s busy telling you about his latest trip to the fishing hole. Filling you in on all the little details and stories from that day that he hadn’t gotten around to telling you the other day. And you’re busy too. You’re busy teasing him- telling him about how you’ve outfished him the last few times the two of you went to his favorite fishing hole together. But you’re busy telling him about the flowers you saw at the edge of the forest the other day when you went foraging for some extra mushrooms and truffles. The wild peonies. The ones you’re convinced you need to go back for because of just how great they’ll look in the dining room.
This is not a glamorous moment. It’s not the picture of lust and heat and all things sexy.
You’re still naked, left practically in the last position that he had you in. And he’s still naked, too. Just lying right beside you. He’s still the handsome, strong man that you fell in love with all those years ago. His body is still built like a sculpture. And the way he looks at you, even as your babbling about flowers for the dining room turns into a conversation about how you’re itching for a late-night snack due to your early dinner and…previous activities, it’s enough to convince you that you must be his equal in looks somehow. For men who look like gods wouldn’t fall in love with mere mortals, in your opinion (though it was always him who would insist on calling you his goddess).
But in your eyes? There’s nothing sexy about starting to formulate a grocery list and fighting over whose turn it is to take the lead with dinner while you’re both nude. Absolutely nothing. But…
…but there is something special about it. Something sweet- something perfect- about that. About a moment like that. It solidifies that you’re not just comfortable with each other. But that he is your comfort. He is the source of your lustful excitement and contented mundanity. He’s what makes you feel wanted like a lover. But needed as a partner in life, all at the same time. He is what makes you feel remarkable and normal at the same time. Cherished and adored and all things good.
Loved. He makes you feel loved. And you make him feel the exact same way. In your own little ways. You know it. You know you do.
Because why else would he be rolling onto his stomach, and looking you in the eyes like that if it wasn’t because you make him feel as loved as he makes you feel? Why else would he lean in close and brush his nose against yours as his hands reach to lock yours in a tight embrace if it wasn’t because you make him feel as special as he makes you feel?
Why else would he taking advantage of this moment- this so special yet so ordinary- to part his lips and say the worlds you’ve been dying to hear for so, so very long if it wasn’t because you make it known every single day of your life that you want you want him as much as he wants you. As much as he needs you. As much as you need him to.
Because things are better like this. When it’s hot. When it’s cold. When there’s passion and there’s stillness. When there’s action. When there’s peace. When there’s you. When there’s him.
“Would you…could you…”
When you’re together. Together, together. Things are better. You’re better. He’s better. You just know it. They just are. And now?
Request: Hi! Here's a couple of ideas I love: how would each of the Chain react to hearing you sing for the first time? Or (assuming you're a regular human here) how would they react to your more rounded ears?

You were embarrassed.
You'd just been out with Wind, looking for some herbs and fruit to go with Wild's dish when it happened.
You did a little too much branch-shaking trying to get an apple down from a tree, and a Courser beehive fell on your head.
Wind was freaking out just as much as you for a second, but he was quick to shoo away the irritated bees and help you.
Afterwords, you'd ducked your head into a nearby creek in an effort to get the honey out of your hair, (which was only mildly successful) when Wind noticed something he deemed truly worthy of freaking out about.
"Your ears!" He gasped, pointing at them as you slicked your hair back.
"Huh, what about them-?" You put a hand up to one of your ears, momentarily worried that you'd been stung or something during the confusion, before the actual reason for his surprise dawned on you.
Oh yeah.
You did not have pointy ears.
"Oh, that they're round? It's just the way people's ears are back home-" You began to explain, but the appalled look on Wind's face and the way he was zeroed in on your ears made you wonder if he was truly listening.
"Oh my gosh!" He gaped with shock. "Woah! They're so- woah!" He bounced closer to you, invading your personal space to an uncomfortable degree (which you'd excuse this instance considering his obvious wonder,) to get a better look at your ears.
"They're- They're just like that!?" His voice was higher-pitched than usual, and you smothered a laugh. This was a type of attention you'd never receive back home.
"Uh, yeah. Always have been."
"Woah..." He whispered, running a finger down the shell of your ear, captivated by the curve contrasting his own. "At first I thought you were hurt or something..."
Before you could say anything else, Wind leaned back, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
"I gotta tell the others!" He had an excited look on his face, and he looked about ready to bolt it back to camp.
Your eyes widened, embarrassment starting to flood your system. "W-Wait! It's not- You don't need to- I mean, it's not that important!" You exclaimed. Now you were the one with a higher voice.
Wind looked confused for a second, before his expression gave way to mischief. "Aw, don't tell me you're embarrassed. Your ears are awesome!" He grinned.
You blushed. What was so awesome about your ears? "I- I don't think-"
Wind didn't give you an opportunity to finish the thought, turning to run away. "You'll see!" He laughed in a way that meant he knew what he was doing.
"Hey! Come back!" You scooped up what little you'd both managed to pick, along with a honeycomb before chasing after him.
__
And now you were here.
"Wow... They're cute!" Hyrule smiled.
Turns out you'd been wrong. The other guys found your ears just as interesting as Wind did.
"Don't think I've ever seen your face this red, Y/N." Wars smirked, "But there's no need to be embarrassed. Hyrule's right, they're cute."
Your cheeks burned incessantly.
"You said this is normal in your time?" Time asked, looking over your ears thoughtfully.
You nodded, thankful for once that Time was the no-nonsense type.
"I've never seen anyone with ears quite like that before." Legend hummed. He looked like he wanted to touch them, but he kept this distance. You were silently glad for that, knowing you'd only lose your composure further with the snarky vet's fingers on your ears.
And the last thing he needed was more reason to tease you.
"I've heard stories about people with ears like this. Humans, that's what they were called, just like Y/N." Sky smiled, giving you a look that asked for silent permission before touching one of your ears.
"Hmm...if those legends are true, then maybe that means Y/N is from an era before all of ours..." Twilight said thoughtfully. He was treating the matter as seriously as Time was, but you noticed his amusement towards your embarrassment.
Wild was in your space as soon as Sky left it, gazing at your ears with open curiosity. Despite his wonder, he seemed hesitant to touch you.
"You can touch them..." You muttered, blushing. You hoped you hadn't misread his expression, but the calloused fingers immediately caressing the edge of your ear told you otherwise.
"I've seen stranger bodily features on hylian-like creatures." Four shrugged. "Round little ears isn't that odd, but, I do have to admit," Four smirked, "They are pretty cute."
These boys were going to be the death of you.

I don't remember if it's canon that the world was made up of humans before Hylia raised it into the sky, or if Sky knew about that, but for the sake of this piece, it is lol

Timeline: Breath of the Wild (BOTW) - Pre Calamity era
Taking a knee in front of the king and the princess. Both of you were. Both of you were associated with princess Zelda. He was supposed to protect her and you were supposed to help her gain her powers.
Unfortunately, Zelda grew a resentment towards you two. Link for the constant reminder that he had fulfilled his destiny. You for the reminder that you had a connection with Hylia even though she was the princess. It’s neither of your faults, Urbosa’s words. Not her father’s.
—————————————-
Both of you watched Zelda angrily storm into her study after a long day of praying and training with you, along with having Link looming next to her like a constant shadow.
Taking in the concerned look on your face, Link gently placed his hand on the small of your back. He gave you a nod, not taking his hand off you.
“She’s a stubborn one, sweetheart. I’m sure she’ll warm up eventually.” He said, softly, not trying to draw attention to either of you so late in the night. A little too friendly, a little too intimate.
A sense of bond that was there, turned into a roaring fire.
Shared kissed behind closed doors, glances when no one was looking, lingering touches, middle of the night rendezvous in each other’s rooms
———————————————————————-
The day before Zelda’s 17th birthday, you two were in the woods with a priest, exchanging life long promises to love each other no matter what and beautiful silver rings, but the very next day, you, Link, and Zelda were running away from corrupted Guardians.
Where did it all go wrong? Link kept his ring. In his pocket. When the Sheikah searched him after he passed out from exhaustion and injuries, they found his ring. The same one that bounded him to you. Not wanting to separate Link’s connection to you, they made sure to keep the ring in a chest, preserving it for when Link wakes up.. if he wakes up.
———————————-
Then Link woke up, in cold water. Nothing. A blank slate of the man he once was. He made his way out of the healing water, the ground cold and hard under his feet. The way he was moving was similar to a fawn first learning how to walk for the first time. He opened a chest; an old shirt, old pants, and shoes. The thing that caught his eye most was a silver ring, untainted by the years he had spent resting.
He did not remember why, how or what was his connection to the ring, but he felt the yearning of someone’s touch. Someone warm and loving and familiar.. not just anyone.
Ok I js blocked glimmerfics BCS what the HELLY💀 at first I thought this is some coded "type whatever U want" kind of fanfic but turns out it's just AI💀 (I tried it months ago and I was wondering if the author took the time to write all of that)
I want real writers in this platform bcs this is everyone's void and happy place, I don't want AI slop in my city get the fuck outta here I feel upset, and emotionally assaulted.
Reading everyone's writing became my hobby back at HS up till now and it also inspired me to write fanfics too, I don't get AI being in the art field I really don't. We were doing so great without it, So please, if you use AI, just block me idgaf. I want artists and writers on my page who put on effort and their silly little ideas that inspire ppl and so.
Correct me if I'm wrong here abt glimmerfics, but I'm just weirded out w the amount of spam and inconsistent writing it gives everytime I search for X reader fics here on Tumblr
Bcs no, I wouldn't do that, and no, Character #1 won't always spam stutter, avoid eye contact, and repeat their answers after asking if they like me C.ai type shift.
★ SYNOPSIS: A treaty between Hyrule and the Gerudo, a marriage between a you and the King of the Gerudo. You're nothing more than a bargaining chip, but that doesn't mean you have to dislike your husband.
On the contrary, you might like him a little too much.
★ W.C. = 1,296
★ PAIRINGS: King!Ganondorf x Reader
"So this is whom I am to be given to like I'm worth no more than a green rupee." Your eyes scour over the man who stands before you now, eyes determined to pick apart the truth in his appearance from the countless falsities, heinous in their implications, you've heard ascribed to him.
He is large. That part is true. Quite true actually. You'd go as far as to described him as hulking. The breadth and size of his shoulders would have you mistaking him for an ox from afar.
You don't mean that as an insult. The opposite actually. His body commands an attention that you can't dissuade your eyes from.
He's, for lack of a better term, built like a brick wall. Sturdy in the way you're sure not even a typhoon could knock him over, you wonder how much his skin would have any give if you pressed on it. That's how muscular he is in your eyes.
The problem is, you can tell that it's the disciplined kind of muscle. It's not just for show (as entertaining of a view it is through his clothes) He works for it, uses it.
You give out a low whistle.
"I should've known better than to listen to those flagrant gossips." You've been away for too long. Lost your touch in the courts. "You're handsome."
Instead of some gnarly beast, a boar beyond comprehension, what stands before you is a man you don't mind sharing a bed with.
What stands before you is a work of art, sculptural in the beauty of his construction.
Now you see why the lies and rumors about him were so vague and distant from the truth. Any closer and those liars would have to face the delicacy that is his appearance.
A nose so different than those of the typical Hylian. It isn't soft, frightfully dainty, or small. Instead, his nose is lovingly wide, allowed it's own space on his face, curved at the perfect angle like those arches so sought after by architects across the land and seas.
His lips aren't so much full as they are plump, the bottom heavier than the top. The asymmetry of it makes you wonder how it will feel to kiss him. Would you notice the difference, or would you be too caught up in the warmth of him, the heat of the moment, to care?
You doubt that his amber eyes would escape your attention. They fail to now. The color of them is so unique and striking, but they don't consume his whole face. The honey-ed yellow, set behind a pair of thick brows, are shadowed so that they can work with and not against the rest of his angular features.
And to top it all off, the blessing, by the Golden Three is it a blessing, is his hair. It's that shade of Gerduo red that can only be found in a fire or the pits of death mountain.
Brilliant, bright, and thick; it curls like a flame but flows like cooling magma down and over his tanned skin, not green from a rotting personality and evilness (yet another obvious lie you had heard), but browned from life lived in the sun's embrace.
"If I were more of an artist, I'd have discovered my muse."
"You give me too high of praise." However composed, the man still comes off stiff, the confusion born from your forwardness breaking past his previously perfect manners.
It's cute, the way his brows furrow slightly, unsure of exactly how he should respond. But you don't feel on the feeling much.
"You are deserving of it, Gerudo King." You throw a subtle glance over at your father and an even more subtle nod in the direction of your king who he is right beside. "My father and liege saw you worthy enough to pawn me off for a political alliance and treaty. Then again, I'm unsure if that should be- "
"You mouthy chi-" The king clears his throat before your father can continue barreling the usual barrage your way.
"Forgive their impudence, Lord Ganon. They are much too rowdy for their age. The result of being raised with a delicate care, I assure you."
Like anyone would believe that bald face lie. Still, you aren't stupid enough to roll your eyes at the King's words, so instead you let out a small sigh.
Ganon shakes his head, holding himself up high in the confidence of his own position.
"It is fine, King of Hyrule." The man hums. "My mothers often remark that those who are the most youthful enjoy the fullest lives."
"You will find that my child will never lack in their youthfulness." Your father laughs, the sound pleasant to the untrained ear, but you know it's mocking.
What was once an insult to you can be turned into a positive trait in the eyes of who he is selling to you, so of course he is happy. Despite that, he still finds your youthfulness, your snide and quick tongue, to be a bother.
Luckily for him, not only will this marriage give him direct blood ties to royalty, but he'll also be rid of you for the foreseeable future.
If only you were a filial child, then you'd be jumping in joy.
"Such gut is admired in the desert." The woman to Ganon's left, one of his advisors you assume, puffs. The one on his right nods.
"One must be willful to thrive in our desert." She hummed. "A great choice was made indeed."
Right. You were picked. Chosen against your will to be offered up to what they thought was a beast of a man. Even though Ganon had betrayed those expectations, you cannot help but be disgusted at the fact that you are so being forced into this against your will.
You've come to regret refusing Zelda's, and extensively, Link's offer to be here at this meeting for your support. It was something of a prideful thing. You didn't want either to see you vulnerable, not did you wish for them to be guilty about what they gave no power to stop.
Right now, you wish Zelda was here to squeeze your arm. You wish Link was here to stand dutifully, sword at his side and armor over his body, to ward off anyone who would even think to cause you physical harm.
But you should get used to it, you think, not having those two at your side. After all, with your marriage to Ganon, you'll be living in the desert, a place far from the grassy hills of Hyrule.
"Whilst I am most grateful for the compliment... " You bow. The motion of it is good enough, but you didn't care to hide the tiredness in your face. "I am fine with not hearing my every trait to be discussed as either positive or negative, so I shall take my leave."
"You have only just returned from your travels abroad. We should not have kept you here for so long." At least the king, your King of Hyrule, is merciful enough to allow you some rest.
Had it just been your father here, you're sure the man would've forced you to stay in this godforsaken meeting until past sunset.
"Go rest child. This matter will not be so quickly decided on in a mere might."
Yet they've already decided that you will be the sacrificial lamb. The only things left to decide are the terms of your marriage contract and the event itself.
But you've shown enough distain for today, so you'll bite your tongue for now.
"Of course not." You hum, bowing one last time to your king, and then Ganon and his advisors.
you've known sidon much longer than link, having loved this man ever since you first met him, but never gathering up the courage to confess to him, due to him being a prince!
you were content with just being by sidon's side for an eternity, without ever confessing to him… and then you met link!
link came to zora's domain and changed everything for you! not only did you soon develop a crush on the heroic hylian, but your close friendship with link also made sidon realize his own feelings for you
sidon had always appreciated your company and he truly loved you, yet it wasn't until he saw you with link that he realized that the love he had for you was romantic!
link was quick to realize he had some sort of attraction towards you, yet he was hesitant at first to act upon it, as he realized that sidon and you seemed a bit too close to just be friends
link actually consulted sidon about his feelings for you, making it clear to the prince of the zora that he liked you and asking sidon for permission to act upon those feelings and ask you out
and sidon couldn't say no, despite how much he wanted to! he had no right to tell this boy that he wasn't allowed to confess to you
but sidon knew he had to make a move on you as well and state his feelings for you clearly! if he lost to link, then he at least wanted it to be with all cards on the table!
