I found this area by chance while researching Cloverdale filming spots. Although the tree has grown quite a bit since filming, it is still distinct enough that I recognized it in passing. This spot is a few blocks from where Niko follows Maxine and the pergola.

Charles had been hovering ever since their return from Hell and while a part of Edwin absolutely loved it, loved that his love’s attention was solely on him, it was starting to get a bit difficult. He couldn’t concentrate, not with Charles’ direct attention on him so often. It made him nervous, fumbling like a grade school kid with a crush.

“Charles, you’ve been staring for quite some time now, are you alright?” Edwin finally asked, closing the heavy tome he had been reading and sitting back in his chair, giving Charles a look.

Charles jumped, a guilty look on his face. “Shit, sorry, mate. Didn’t mean to bother you.”

“You are not bothering me,” Edwin said, confused. “I am merely curious. You do not usually stare at me.”

“I—” Charles started before cutting himself off. “Don’t worry about it. S’nothing.”

“Charles,” Edwin pressed. “Please?”

It was the please that got to him. “I’m sorry, Edwin. I’m just— I keep worrying that you’re hurt. After— after what you went through, what we went through.”

Edwin gave a gentle sigh, standing up from the desk chair and making his way to Charles, standing in front of him. “I am fine, Charles. I promise. Yes, going back to Hell was horrid. Yes, I am struggling a bit with the memories. But I am okay.”

Charles let out a shuddering sigh, nodding his head. “Yeah, okay. You’ll tell me when or if that changes, yeah?”

“Of course,” Edwin nodded, before hesitantly reaching out for Charles’ hand, surprised when Charles tangled their fingers together and squeezed. “We will be alright.”

Charles nodded, staring at their interlinked fingers. “Yeah, mate. I think we will be.”
