I love the character of Nimble Dick so much. He literally just joins Brienne's quest because why the heck not. I mean ye, he was promised gold, but he very much had the attitude of "I've got nothing better to do". He has so much hometown pride for his family's ruined castle and swamplands, and all of its weird folklore. He loves telling spooky stories and singing the random bits of songs that he knows. He's a bit of a sleazy guy, but he is true to his word the entire way through, and eventually earns Brienne's trust by being genuine. He points out rock formations and played a little prank on the Brave Companions. He was finally given a sword by the woman who has not trusted him even a little bit. He was ready to fight how his ancestors fought. He died cruelly, and without warning in trying to help Brienne. He was buried by Brienne, in the home of his family for generations. As he was buried, he was given what he had earned; Brienne's trust, and two golden dragons for leading her to the fool.

from the moral standpoint everything that the woman did bugged me to the core, but from the reader's perspective she was one of the most interesting characters in the whole novel. Every time I read her chapters I was JUMPING for joy. What the fuck is this bitch gonna do next??? they could write books about what was wrong with that woman

I knew if I finished A Dance With Dragons I would start clammering for more material. I’ve know that since I bought the whole A Song of Ice and Fire series when I was like 14. Jesus fuck. I’ve been slowly spanning the books out waiting for The Winds of Winter, thinking, When I finally reach Dance, it will surely be out by then. Nope. That is not the case. Now, I have to join the damn club. It’s been less that 2 hours since I finished the book, and I already feel like these:

And there’s so much shit that isn’t 100% confirmed in the books, like Jon’s lore and Bran’s lore which I’m most excited about to be honest. With Bran’s point of views, I swear George R. R. Martin takes his good ole time writing those, and his point of view is so interesting. I swear he does that shit on purpose. I waited so long for more of Bran, and there was just nothing besides allusions to him trying to communicate to Theon’s traumatized ass through the damn tree.

SPOILERS. And don’t even get me started on Jon; he is dead. He is canonically dead right now, and he has not been resurrected (yet?) like in the show. What happens is George just lets him die?

I’m about to become the next Annie Wilkes and put this man to work. /j

Autism be damned. Why did this become my special interest at a young age and follow me into my 20s? I guess I have to make do with what I haven’t finished yet: Fire & Blood.

A Feast For Crows Book Review

I finished this book almost two months ago. It took me so long and put me in a reading slump.

That being said, it did have a lot of good qualities.

Cerise and Jamie’s chapters were the highlight of this book for me. Getting to read through Cerise was amazing. She’s literally insane and convinced Tyrion is in the walls. She’s trying so hard to be like her father, but in the end turning into Robert with her drinking.

Also watching her and Jamie’s relationship start to crumble after he spent so long trying to get back to her was great. Jamie’s character development will always make him one of my all time favorite characters. As he becomes a true knight he deviates more from the version of him that Cersie is trying to live through.

Not to mention how he slowly starts seeing Aerys through Cersie.

“Jon wouldn’t, the Lord Commander would”

I was sad there were no Jon POVS, but reading how cold he was through Sams was great. I agree with Jon’s decision. By switching the babies he gives them both a strong chance at survival. Was it fair to Gilly? Absolutely not, but I understand why he did it.

Reading through all of the Iron Island POVs was the worst part of this book for me. I did not enjoy them. I thought they were slow and boring.

Adrianne Martell was interesting, but still felt dragged out.

The little bits of Arya and Sansa we got were great. My heart breaks for them having to navigate the world with no true protection.

Following such an amazing book (A Storm Of Swords) this felt like a let down. It had a lot of redeeming qualities, but so far is my least favorite in the series.

Once again, where is Rickon??
