Started on a couple more bookmarks. Had the drive to do so and the current returning interest spawned these, because they previously had one but I can do it better now with my gained experience, so they're getting new ones and two each :3

There's also this one I started for a mostly unnamed new character who might sit in concept hell, but the bookmark itself is getting made still lol

They also all have sticker tags already lol

10 beautiful feathers went home with a coworker today! I hope who she gifts them to loves them as much as I loved making them!

So, I did the Gregales prosthetic wings as feather bookmarks a while back when I was reading Gregale. I got the idea while reading Libeccio to do another set for them but with their natural feathers! I've since finished Libeccio and have started re-reading Gregale(with my Death feather bookmarks from my Loving Reaper pair) and have started on the progress of the Natural Set! It's just pencil outlines and pale yellow for markings while hoping between references, but they're gonna be really fun!

Plus it's good for me to do more based on actual birds, or characters with bird bases, on occasion along with all the other character ones I do for fun.

Here's the Natural Set in its current state!

I do find it fun and refreshing that these all are softer in shape than my usuals are. It's nice for a change lol.

For example, have this other progress photo of another set I was working on!(It's also a test batch for a different type of paper in my big sketchbook. Testing for coloured pencil and how it compares to my usual paper, and thickness of the bookmarks once laminated. I do all of these by hand and have so many in the air at all times. I don't know how I only just now started considering testing other things to see how they work.)

This is the Chaos Emeralds Set plus two

There is no actual black emerald in canon, it's just here because I had another one drawn and wanted a black bookmark. The grey one is just the depowered form of the Chaos Emeralds and us there because yes.These have been both fun and an absolute pain to work on, largely because of all the detailing to help them look like gemstones. It's fun, but it's such a long process to do by hand with pen.

Wave family bookmarks! Their initial set from my early days in character bookmarks and the most recent natural set largely based on birds.

Mostly lol

Rav's isn't really based on a bird and Soundwave's doesn't exactly have a pattern mirroring a bird irl. But everyone else has a base or reference! Laserbeak is based on a common raven. Rosy(Flipside) is based on a spotted owl. Enemy is based on a brown falcon. Rumble and Frenzy are based on a eurasian eagle-owl. Soundwave, while not having the pattern, is based on a black hawk. Ravage is more meant to be a panther but it's harder to resemble cats in feathers lol

Finished a pair of bookmarks for Jazz and Drift respectively!

Jazz's design was very much based on this piece of fanart by @somerandomcockroach for the fic Domino Milkshake 'cause I think his description was very pretty and the design you gave him was absolutely almost exactly how I pictured his armour looking lol

Drift's design was partially based on @keferon Snow Bots au design, his IDW design, and kinda just how I thought it could look on a feather lol

I think I referenced these two pieces Keferon did the most 'cause I had the clearest shot of Drift's jacket. The first one also 'cause it's funny and I love it XD

Overall, these were fun to do and I have more in the works :3

Prowl and Roddy have bases down and I have plans to do one for Blurr as well 'cause brainrot for this sassy silvery blue speedster

I love the difference between these two even though they're only a couple months apart, but they're both designed after the same pattern

The new one on the left was made using a new black coloured pencil and I love just how pure that black is. It's beautiful and genuinely matches it's base, as does the red! It might be because I put more care and effort into making the new one as it is a gift for my girlfriend, compared to the one on the right being more of a representation for a character, but I love it. I love them both and find the simple differences fascinating lol

No two feathers are the same even if they're made with the same base and idea! As much as I can try to replicate lol

Debated for a long while making physical feather refs for my own wings and how they look, but the thing is that they aren't always the same. They tend to shift day to day depending on a variety of things, not last of which are my interests at that time lol. A usual trigger for change is also music 'cause it's just so deeply part of me so it makes sense; as well as some emotions lol

Anyways, here's a list I drew up with the most common bases at the top and some others that have stronger visualizations towards the bottom lol

Fully aware I maybe should have shifted the Eagle and Owl as Hawks and Owls tend to be my default birds, but it's already been written in pen lol

Also, that bit in quotations is often how the visualizations come through in my head. That one in particular is for my Matron and Patron deities, of which I'm gonna do a pair for 'cause that feels better than doing just one. Plus then, I can add little elements from both into the other, largely with colours and little design bits but yeah lol. I have already drawn up bases for the first several here

And props to anyone who can guess the Matron and Patron deity from the colours and description alone lol
