Wait, why does Cub hate Doc? Surely he’d be willing to help save a fellow hermit?

[Audio: Scar sighs.]

It’s not an issue of Cub—or the others—not wanting to find Doc, it’s about the consequences. Cub doesn’t… approve of Area 77. He thinks Doc strong-armed me into helping him, and that we don’t know what we’re doing and we’re gonna make the whole server explode or something. He’s spying on us all the time. He’d get this place shut down in an instant if he knew Doc was missing, and I can’t… I can’t let it go! This is Doc’s passion project! He’d be furious if he came back and I’d let it get obliterated!

…and I don’t want Scara to get killed.

Hi Scar! How’d you get that, well, scar?

[Video: Scar touches the bridge of his nose. His fingers come away with a little bit of blood, and he peers at it before wiping it off on his dark blue jacket.]

This one, you mean? The new one? Or all of these?

[Video: Scar gestures to his face. He laughs a little.]

Three days ago, around the same time Doc went missing, Fluffy went nuts. Ripped the door off his containment cell, somehow, and I had to wrangle him back in. He lashed out a little bit—not his fault, I think something totally spooked him. He’s usually quite the mellow creature! He’s a sentient sock monkey, how much harm could he do, really?

[Video: Scar shakes his head.]

Anyway, Fluffy’s back safe in his containment chamber now. And I double- and triple-checked the seals—there was really no way he should have been able to escape, but somehow he did…

Scar, what are your vex powers? Is there any way those could help?

[Video: Scar waves his hands around vaguely.]

Oh, you know! Flight, blasting stuff, detecting and tracking magical energies… temporarily being able to go through walls and things… uh… ooh, I can enchant some things, mostly food- sugar gives me a real power boost- I can grab things with my magic as well, and throw them around… a little bit of suggestion or, uh, charmspeak? Do people call it charmspeak?

It’s a little bit of everything, really! None of it is super powerful unless I stuff my face with cake first, but it’s handy in a bind. I’ve been using my vex powers to track the magical and electrical energies around here, but I’m not sure what else I could do…
