Prompt: Backyard BBQ
Fat!Dean, Feeder!Cas, Post Retirement, Happy Family,
When Sam and Dean officially retired from Hunting, Dean bought a house on a lake. There were enough rooms for everyone; him and Cas, Baby Jack, Claire, even Sam and whoever he brought up for the holidays.
That was nearly 5 years ago though. Now, Dean, Cas, and their kids just live. Claire comes by on her breaks from school, and Jack has the run of the property.
Now, it’s Summer, and Claire is back for the next few months, and Sam and Eileen have come up for the holiday weekend.
Dean sits on the porch, overlooking the lake. Cas is monitoring the grill, flipping burgers with Claire. Sam has always been completely enamoured with Jack, and he runs around tossing a NERF football around.
At any other moment in his life, Dean would think he’d jinx something if he said how happy he was, but now, he’s not afraid to say it.
Cas calls everyone to the meal. The sun is starting to dip, and the fireworks are going to start popping off any moment. Sam, Jack, and Eileen make their way up to the table from the yard. Clair brings out some plates and Cas starts serving from the small outdoor kitchen. Everyone gets their own plate, but Dean stays planted in his seat.
Dean watches as his family flurries around, spooning food onto their plates. Cas comes around to where he’s sitting, “Here go you go Dean.” He pecks a kiss onto Dean’s lips, and drops a paper plate piled with food. There’s a double cheeseburger, a healthy serving of mac and cheese, potato salad, a small pile of chili cheese fries, and a hot dog.
“Hmm, this looks amazing babe,” Dean leans forward, spreading his legs for his belly to shift from where it sits proudly on his lap to the space between his knees. The arms of the chair dig into his sides, and the chair creaks and groans under him. He takes up his fork and starts taking a bite.
Everyone else joins in, eating from their own, admittedly less packed, plates. There’s chatting going on around them, Claire tells Sam about her classes at school, and Jack informs Cas how Sam taught him how to throw a spiral football. Dean eats his food, listening to everyone and completely content.
He finishes his plate before anyone else, and before he can sit back into his chair, Cas has another plate ready for him, switching it out for the one in front of him. “You’re not done yet,” Cas says.
“Guess not,” Dean takes up his fork again, and keeps eating. Cas brings him two more plates of food, allowing Dean to feel heavy and bloated in his chair, his belly feels heavy and hard; he’ll definitely want belly rubs later.
“Who wants dessert?” Cas asks, Jack’s hand shoots up, but Dean can only really see the way his eyes are trained on Dean.
“I’ll have a bite,” Dean responds, leaving Cas’ expression wrecked.
