oh my gosh, the cup brothers' parents being heads of some kind of kidnapping/brainwashing organisation. wonder if that's got anything to do with them living with elder kettle...

there’s always something very.. i don’t know melancholic and touching about someone well past their middle years taking in children to raise.

maybe I notice it because my own parents had me a bit older than everyone else around us (and my own brothers 7 years later) but keeping up with a child and keeping on going even as your joints start to hurt and you can’t carry them anymore when you still want to its...or knowing you might not live to see them grow as old as you? I just- 

it’s lovely and sad and I think Cuphead and Mugman might be pretty aware of it and dote on their Elder you know?

Literally the only thing stopping him from going out there and kicking ass for his wards was the threat of a slipped disk so the bros had to talk him out of it. 

Just watch them shut down any attempts at: “Join us! We’re your parents you’re meant to be on our side and fight against these people who’ve already hurt you!”

Like, they might have been their parents, but Elder Kettle’s the one who raised them. That means more to them. A lot more. And they won’t stand for this base slander and dismissal of their most precious person.

OKAY BUT WHAT IF CONNORS HEART IS THE ONE CHASING AFTER EVANS AND WHEN EVERYONE LOOKS DISAPPROVINGLY AT THEM CONNOR GETS FREAKED OUT AND STORMS OUT JUST LEAVING HIS HEART WITH EVAN AND THEN KILLS HIMSELF BECAUSE HE CANT LIVE WITHOUT A HEART BUT IS TOO SCARED TO GET IT BACK AND THATS WHY EVAN CAN TALK TO CONNOR AFTER HES DEAD BECAUSE HE HAS THE ONE PART OF HIM THATS ALIVE

Laughing was probably the last thing that came to her mind after hearing what Lena said. It wasn’t a joke for sure, seeing the look on her best friend’s face and the loud pounding of her heart that Kara was struggling to shut out.

“I like you too, Lena,” Kara said slowly, “But you’re saying you like like me, right? As in, the more than friends kind of like. The one that we watch in movies and tv shows… That… wah pow.”

Kara tried her best to steady her own heart as she met Lena’s gaze. “You’re saying you love me, aren’t you?”

Lena nodded, her hand balled into a fist as she tried to calm her nerves. This felt like the moment of truth -- when she would find out whether her and Kara’s friendship would hold up despite her feelings. “It’s okay if you don’t feel the same,” she assured her, trying to keep her voice strong and hide how vulnerable she felt. How easily Kara could destroy her with just a few words right now. “I felt like you had a right to know. Like it was wrong to hide it from you. But-- it doesn’t have to change anything.”

She took a breath, keeping herself as steady as she could. The last thing she wanted was to make this even more uncomfortable for Kara by getting emotional. “I’m in love with you. But nothing is more important to me than our friendship, and I never want to lose that.”
