Read the history day by day and soon you realise that humanity always was in such a deep mess... There also are patterns repeating, loops, making every day a bit of a groundhog day. Today was a lucky days for kings. Yohannes IV crowned Emperor of Ethiopia, Kwang-su becomes Emperor of China, Basilicus becomes Bysantine Emperor, Stalin starts calling himself "Man of Steel", Gustav I crowned king of Sweden and Bayinnaung is crowned king of Burma. And it is Yennayer, New Year in many regions of North Africa, celebration of the Berber king Shoshenq I being enthroned Pharaoh of Egypt. With the latest I like the tradition of sending children to the farms to pick themselves fruit and vegetables, I guess for the prosperity of the new agricultural year. Children, and later farmers may do good things and nasty things but the impact is small compared to actions of kings. Why someone is born to be a king? Would it be better if no-one ever had much power over others? There's an extremely interesting art exhibition in the St John's Hall gallery in Barmouth, North Wales. It tells the story of a single cell gradually developing into human SUPERORGANISM. Our civilization is now so interconnected that it could be viewed as a living organism. So the problems of modern world are problems of a living being. I think, like in a human body, its own immune system can turn against it. That's self destructive tendencies in our societies. Whole humanity might get hypochondria or paranoia. Easy to imagine. Many people on social media were coping and pasting angry text from each other saying "Why didn't you say anything about conflicts in Syria or Yemen for many years?" (and those people did not, too) It looks to me that, like with old festering wounds which just won't heal, human superorganism learns to live somehow with some long going local conflicts... But now we have a fresh, bleeding cut and the whole being is in pain. It does what a human would do: stops blood flow to the affected area (sanctions). It fights infection. This horrible situation surprisingly gives me hope. All local tyrants, terrorists and dictators, watch. You cannot inflict pain in one place without consequences any more. We are all one being. You can't hurt a part of it without hurting yourself. Cut a limb off and you will bleed too. Isolate your country and it will wither. Good ideas can spread with the lightning speed across the world too, changing it for the best. Globalisation, a new level of our civilization is both a blessing and a curse. When you do something presumed good, like helping a sick relative, but feel resentment, is there a point? Do our feelings and thoughts negate what we do?  If you are trying to say something but hardly anybody is interested, and you know yourself that it wasn't a clear or a clever message, is there a point in talking?  If you build your #life trying to be someone else, a better person, to experience what is presumed to be right, important - and still feel #resentment, was there a point doing all that?  If you understand how helpless you are to really help anyone, is there a point trying?  Can one escape oneself with all of the flaws, anger, unkindness, insecurity, dependency, jealousy, suspicions, meekness, prejudices, self glorification and self hatred? Can one stop a bad pattern repeating forever?  Is there a point in all of this? No "organised religion" answers, please, their leaders discredited themselves by siding with all kinds of tyrants and murderers in power throughout the history.  But maybe there is no point and it's ok. It's just life, it grows like a fractal tree. Universe learning about itself through its branche-eyes. All we can do is to change the direction of our own shoot by a millimeter. Пока ещё можно купаться, мы много бываем не озере. Вчера соседка вдруг переплыла его по диагонали. Зачем так далеко? Чтобы принести упущенный кем-то надувной мячик. Когда знаешь свою цель, легче совершить нечто особенное. Вот были бы в жизни разбросаны такие мячики на дальних берегах... Наверное, надо самим их создавать и разбрасывать. Мой, в данный момент, - отвести маму в её любимую Испанию, а самой погулять по северу Италии...
