This was a beautiful and touching project. Mary DeSoucey in January asked me to make a bass for her husband Dan Desoucey that had to be ready by April 30th for an anniversary gift. Together me and Mary came up with ideas! Check out the pics and write up of this special piece.

PETILLO Jazz Bass

Body Material: German flame maple top and Lousiana Swamp Ash back. Both pieces are book matched together.

Body Color: Blue-Green-faded into the natural flame maple wood grain/the back has a two sided burst framing the sides of the strip inlay

Back Strip Inlay: Southwestern style design with 103 mitre joints. The center inlay strip was burned for a deep 3d perspective

Neck Plate: Butter Rum Lifesavers label and in the barcode the date (April 30th) of Mary and Dan's anniversary

Neck: roasted American flame maple

Frets: standard narrow shape nickel

Fingerboard: Nigerian ebony

Fingerboard Inlays: Paua abalone stars

Fingerboard Scale: 34'

Headstock Shape: "NEW" black phenolic oversized half cover with Paua abalone stars and mother of pearl moon face inlays

Nut: Bone

Tuners: Grover (nickel)

Bridge: Gotoh brand (nickel)

Pickups: Custom Petillo

Jack: Electro-socket holder

Knobs: Two black volume knobs and one nickel tone knob with Paua abalone inlaid tops

Control Cavity Cover: black phenolic

Strings: Petillo Chromes (gauges - 105, 85, 65, 45)

Strap Button: Dunlop Strap Locks (nickel)

Case: Gator brand
