okayokayokay You know those people who when somebody brings up the foot massage scene, they always bring up "it's just a Biblical Allusion(TM) and nothing more"? Well if the anime wanted to go all Biblical Allusion(TM) they should've incorporated the Judas Kiss. So there is that!
Yeah yeah i get what ur saying but also that scene is less Biblical Allusion than it is this weird moment of physical vulnerability for both L and Light. People often try to put it in the context of a power dynamic thing (which! fair!) but also these two people use touch in veeeeery different ways. L doesn’t touch anyone’s skin if he can help it, and Light controls who touches him pretty strictly. The foot massage is both of them, for one moment, letting each other thru the veil of reality and being like “What if we were both humans? What if we weren’t in separate towers but in the same room the whole time?” I mean, yeah, they should have kissed, but I don’t feel like it can be one-to-one of Jesus and Judas. My personal preferred Biblical allusion for these two is Michael and Lucifer.
