Feo

Canonically, as a shadow priest, Elu has a mindbender familiar, Feo. It's a challenge to write him into Tumblr and Discord rp, but he's usually with her for in-game things. Especially for guild house events at Threshers Wharf in Stormsong.

His lore is the most lore-breaky thing in Elu's story but I really loved dreaming it up!

Feo’s clutch was laid in haste as his mother faced a threat around the tide pools at Shrine of the Storm, subsequently orphaned in her sacrifice to protect them.

There the clutch was found by a merchant. Seizing a opportunity to make coin, he brought them to Boralus to be sold at Tradewinds Market. Cormac stumbled upon the vendor's stall and plucked him from the brood as a gift for Elu.

Feo doesn't technically come from the Void, he began life in the default world. And it's feasible that he would not have realized his species potential as quickly as he might have if he were “born” into it, as most mindbenders are.

Being born is the biggest split from lore and it implies some sort of progression through life, infancy to maturity. Usually when summoned they are already fully-realized, powerful entities.

But if they were, they would grow up in the Void and only be able to be summoned once coming into their full power.

Being born also implies nurturing. There, the idea grows: possibly empowered by magic and shadow.

Having been raised on Azeroth, Feo mimics some mortal behaviors like enjoying (and stealing) snacks, specifically mana buns. But he's usually pretty shy, often found hiding in Elu's cloak.

He doesn't technically speak, mostly because the pitch is a hypersonic black metal scream—it's shattered quite a few display cases at Curses & Curios. Cursed artifacts probably flinch every time he sneezes.
