I braided this from fresh corn silk and tied it off with the husks as a simple fertility charm.

Corn has deep roots in fertility and harvest, and the silk felt too full of energy to waste.

Now to put it on my altar, to hold space for new beginnings and the dreams I’m growing.

Pinecones In Hoodoo + A Pinecone Fertility Charm.

First I just wanted to give a little history of pinecones.

Pinecone In History. In Mexico there is a god called “Chicomecoatl” sometimes depicted with an offering of pine cones in one hand, and an evergreen tree in the other. In Hindu their are deities that are often depicted holding a pine cone. The Egyptian Staff of Osiris from (1224 BC) depicts two spiraling snakes rising up to meet at a pine cone. In Ancient Assyrian there is a carvings from (713-716 BC) depicting winged people holding pine cones.

Celts, used pine cones for fertility charm. . Romans used them for the goddess of love Venus. But there are to many others to add to this post.😁

In Rome, the pope wears a pine cone carved into the holy staff that's used in religious ceremonies. There's a huge gargantuan bronze pine cone statue at the Vatican in Rome. 👇

All of these depictions of pine cone are symbols of spiritualty; and let's not forget durning the Winter Solstice (Christmas) people have pinecones on their altars.

Pinecone Purification,Cleansing & Banishing: Burning the tree's pine needles or using pine oil can the strong fresh scent. in the south it's been used to increase your energy when you're feeling stuck in life, it purify the spirit & clear the mine & heal the body.

The energy of Pine smoke can also be used rituals or ceremonies to help release negative energy.

Making Pinecone Incense Sticks: You can easily make your own pine incense stick by tie pine needles. BUT LET the sticks dry for about two weeks before use. (If you can't find pine cones or needles you can buy the Incense or the Pine Oil)

Now that you have a little idea on pine cones in hoodoo it's one of the most effective charms to used if you are trying to conceive.

How To Tell Which Is Which? To start pinecones comes in male and female. The Male pine cones do not make the hard-shell it is soft and spongy and it's shell closer together. The Female pine cones is the had shell and it's shell is further apart.

Hoodoo Fertility Charm: Get yourself a female pinecone. Drizzle the cone with some Honey.

Next add some hair from the head of the (female) and the (male's) head of the couple who is trying to conceive. Now place the hair in the honey on the pinecone.

Last get a small white plate and a make X in salt from one end to the plate to the other, place the cone in the middle of the plate.

READ PRAYER. Lord, I'm asking you for a child. Your word says you will give us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4), and this is my greatest desire. I want to be a parent. I want to raise a child to love and serve you all of his/her life.

Place the plate under your bed and have sex, more the once if you want.🥰 ❤️ afterwards take that pinecone and bury it in your yard.

For the last year or so, my husband and I have been trying to conceive. So far, we’ve been unsuccessful, so I wanted to try creating a fertility charm and ask Hera and Aphrodite for help. 

First, I created a sigil - 

The next thing I did was draw it on myself using some pink eyeshadow. I traced it over a few times in different shades of pink, too, focusing on my intent while doing so. 

Then, I traced over it with a piece of Rose Quartz while praying to Hera and Aphrodite in blessing us with a child. I plan on pouring out a libation to them in thanks later tonight as well. I traced over the sigil a few times, until I felt that I was done. Then I thanked Hera and Aphrodite as I finished the prayer. 

I then washed the sigil off with a bar of pink soap, with the intention of activating the sigil as I did so. I also thanked Hera and Aphrodite one last time. 

I don’t do spell work often, but I thought I’d share this one on the off chance that someone else might be in need of a fertility charm. You can pray to whomever you feel would be fitting to help you in your journey - I prayed to Hera and Aphrodite because I worship them as a Hellenic Polytheist. <3

Fertility Charm

When my husband and I decided we needed a pink thing in our lives I was just coming off the Mirena, which has been known to cause permanent infertility. In addition to taking evening primrose oil, prenatal vitamins, and diligently tracking my cycle I carried this fertility charm with me 24/7. Apparently it worked, because within three cycles we were success.

What you’ll need: A red bag Hair from you and your lover(I used our full moon trimmings that I keep for things like this) Rose quartz Unakite Moonstone Walnut Acorn

Begin with knotting/tying the hair together at one end, so it stays put. Braid the hairs together while envisioning you and your lover with a bundle of joy made from the best of both of you. When done braiding tie the other end and place it in the red bag. If the hair isn’t long enough to braid, no worries, just tie it together in knots. Place the walnut and the acorn in the bag, concentrating on your intent, and asking them to lend you their energy. Place the fully charged crystals, one at a time, in the red bag, also concentrating your intent. Tie the bag closed. Keep this with at all times, sleep with it under your pillow, and keep it near when becoming intimate, except when it comes to time to recharge the crystals on the full moon. When replacing the crystals after charging them remember to concentrate on your intent.

A snail charm at The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic......another thing on my ‘To Make’ list, I'm collecting empty snail shells in preparation but do you see the size of those shells, they are whoppers! mine is unlikely to be anywhere as impressive as this one but I'm still going to make one

For some reason I've always just loved the design of the Woman of Willendorf and similar "Venus figurines," and I've come across some awesome jewelry using this design in charms, but the speculation that they were used as fertility charms makes me too nervous to own such a trinket yet.
