Mazinger 1969 is the first Fewture - Art Storm model added to my collection. I’ve always liked the style Professor Robo Taku Sato (RIP!) used to shape his neo-goth versions of Go Nagai’s classic creations, so when I came across a sealed copy for a bargain price in Singapore, I couldn’t miss it.
When it comes to Fewture models, you all know everything says “classy, quality and expensive”, and this model is no exception to this rule. Starting from the classic brown carton box, from the inner slip-on case, to the styrofoam blister, everything is made with craft quality.
The robot itself is really impressive in terms of weight, since pretty much every part is metal made. This however does not affect his posability so you can have great fun (if you dare...) playing with it. The only downside I could mention, is the poorly set of accessories included in the package. In fact, aside from a spare set of axed arms, the Hover Pilder and a plastic stand, you get nothing more. Given the retail price, I think they could at least have included the Mazinger Blade (not to mention the Scrander...).
Overall I’m really happy with this model, so much that I recently bought another Fewture model, but I will show you that later!
