"Finding Shadows" - FIB-Au fanfic

I come to you, humbly presenting a new fic installment of my Monkie Kid Au, which has been on an accidental break for waaayyy to long xD

MK's team is trying to get a new member. Though it certainly takes some convincing to get the shadow to be on board.

Mk could use all the help he can get. One year of truce was hardly much time. What he needed right now, was someone who could teach him quickly, in case push came to shove. He just needed to find said "someone"... Mk’s voice echoed in the empty room, and so did his steps as he went further into the seemingly abandoned dojo. He didn’t receive an answer, the air as still and unmoving as it had been when he entered. Brown eyes searched his surroundings in quiet attentiveness and weariness. Sure, the building seemed abandoned. But Mk was pretty convinced that it wasn’t.

Been way to long since I posted any FIB-AU content, so let's start the new year with Jin's character design! ^^

Dude needed to get out of that borrowed sweater after joining Mk's crew. Mei helped him with a shopping trip xD

"Searching Refuge"

It was a remarkably ordinary day at Pigsys Noodles, considering the world nearly ended not to long ago. Pigsy wouldn’t have minded if the day had continued and ended as calm and predictable as it had started. There was a sort of comfort in this sort of calming routine every now and then. But the entrance of a misterious, odly familiar, young adult takes the day into an unexpected new direction.

I normaly don't draw backgrounds, but for this one it was kind of a must. And I gota say, I'm quiet happy with how the cover turned out! ^^

The fic itself gave me some trouble... I alredy had it almost finished last year, when my external harddrive died and locked me out of it... Needless to say, I didn't have much motivation to write it all again and held on to the hope to just somehow get my old progress back. Ultimately I decidet to swallow the bitter pill, and finished it after all.

Presenting: the so far secound big fic in my AU! :3 

This time, Jin and Yin take center stage in

“Offer to Silver and Gold”

Rumors travel fast. And the rumors of a certain someone searching for magical artifacts is enough to motivate the twins to search through the chaos in their workshop, to find the broken pieces of one of their failed inventions. If said pieces where to fall into the wrong hands, it surely would mean nothing good for them. Or anyone, probably. Unexpectadly however, Jin and Yin suddenly find themselfe at the mercy of an intruder. And even more unexpactadly, faced with an offer...

And this time, making the cover after finishing the fic took me "only" 17 days! xD

I finished the fic on April 20th, minus some wording fixes I made later, and finished the drawing yesterday night! :3

About time I get back into creating content for my LMK "Fire, Ice and Bone"-AU!

So, let's start easy, with character design! ^^

FIB-Au x Cursed AU Crossover! 

Fun little idea I had of what would happen if my “Fire, Ice and Bone” AU twins would meet their counterparts from @winterpower98​ ‘s “Cursed AU”! :3

As I kind of explained in THIS post, Jin and Yin kind of had a falling out in my AU. While Yin joined LBD’s side, Jin joined MK’s side, where he got promptly picked up by Mei and became friends with her. Now Yin thinks his brother replaced him. 

Meanwhile, Cursed AU Jin and Yin alredy are done and over with this sort of thing xD Having sorted out all possible “You stole my brother” acusations in “Sibling Fight”.

Sooo, needles to say, FIB!Yin wouldn’t be to happy to see that even in other universes Jin “replaced” him with the dragon girl. Meanwhile Cursed!Yin would try using his own experience with that to reasure FIB!Jin.

Other funny random detail:

In my AU, Jin and Yin are just barely halfe a head taller than Mei and Mk. Meaning by implication, this would also make them roughly a head shorter than their Cursed AU counterparts! Which I just find kind of hilarious? It gives them “little siblings” vibes if put next to the Cursed Au twins! xD

Mk realices that he can't defeat LBD. Their powers are matched, and if they continue like this, neather of them will walk away as a winner. They will take each other out. Finding himselfe suddenly face to face with the bone spirit, Mk decides to entertain a gamble, and makes the demon an offer.

I had this fic lying around, FINISHED, for a MONTH! All becouse I wanted to draw cover art for it before publishing it, so I could properly share it on insta and tumblr! >.< And this drawing gave me more trouble that it had any right too! I had such a hard time with the poses! But hey! At least it turned out great in the end! XD

Finally, I finished Mk's design for my "Fire, Ice and Bone"-AU! XD (I just BARELY managed to squeez enough color out of my "Milky White" marker, after putting it into nail polish remover, becouse I didn't have rubbing alcohol >.&lt;)

Mk's clothe develop over the AU to represent his teachers, and his necklace his friends.

The jacket is the first thing to change, representing Wukong and Macaque. (I plan on making a mini comic for it, but the jackets improvements are curtesy of the artsy clone xD)

The necklace is something Mk get's in my fic "Pendant", as a gift from Mei and Red Son.

And roughly around the halfway point of Mk's and LBD's "truce", is when he kind of subcounciously starts seeing her as a teacher as well, leading to him picking up the cloud patterned T-Shirt.

Not gona lie, I thought this design would turn out to be a disaster. I was 70% sure the colors yellow, purple, blue, white AND red wouldn't go well together. Plus so many patterns! I was scared it would be to cluttered! >.< So, I'm positively suprised that it turned out looking really good after all! :3 (I might shift the pendants brown to a lighter brown though, just so the design on it shows better)
