Hello, it’s me. It is the start of the #fiberaurychallenge which means it’s time for a new introduction. I’m Samantha, or Sam for most. I am a 28 year old bookish and crafty married cat lady living in Florida. I had many hobbies but the ones that control most of my life are books and knitting. It's #fiberaury intro time, right? So, hi! I'm Connie, and I'm a crochet designer and teacher, a mom, a veteran, an Army wife, a small town girl from rural Arkansas, and most recently a spinner. I believe crochet is both a skill that can be learned like most hand crafts as well as an art. I love to play with color and I started designing because I had trouble following patterns - and now I can't stop! There are simply more ideas than I have the time and resources to realize. I do get bogged down with the finishing and polishing of patterns, though, which is why I've started sharing pattern previews with my Patrons over on Patreon! I also do informal tutorials on request and Patrons get first access. Some of my favorite moments as a teacher are when I get to see light bulbs going off when a student finally "gets" something!
