Reading thoughts for 2025
Yes I know the year ended yesterday. Yesterday was a very emotional day, I was in no position to write a sentence.
I read 16 books this year. 8 audiobooks, 2 ebooks and 6 physical books. I had 2 DNFS. My reading goal was 20. Back in October I was mad I wasn't making the goal but now I'm somewhat over it.
I am not setting a goal for 2026 because it's an Olympic year and I those always fuck up my reading goals.
I read all different types of genres, and I read multiple books at once. Currently I am reading 28 different books.
Somewhere around the end of September, I did enter a reading slump. I think early December I started to fix it.
The TBR is massive, not to mention I have a B&N trip planned for Monday.
Everyone I beg of you, READ! I don't care what you read. You can read whatever romantasy trash is popular, even I read it sometimes. Crush on the fictional boys and girls. Ship whoever you want to ship.
Read the big 1000 page books(I'm reading one right now and there's another one that's almost 900 pages). Read books about mutant sea creatures and books about space travel. Read books about queens that fall in love a god. Don't let anyone tell you what to read, or that what you read is boring, inappropriate, not their thing, etc.
Helloooooo 👋🏻 I'm here! I am making my resurgence into the tumblrsphere by making a book account that will also not just be books!
My name is Emily and I literally cannot stop reading. If I stop, I'm pretty sure I'm going to either die or I'm going to explode. Either one is a bad option for me, so I'm just not going to test it.
Here's a little about me:
I know I'm in my thirties but don't ask me to give the exact number without struggling.
I am a mom and I think my daughter has the funniest sense of humor ever
I read a lot of different genres, my goal for 2025 is to read one nonfiction book a quarter
I read ridiculously fast and it's a blessing and a curse
ADHD is my life baybeeeee. I have the object permanence of a gnat.
My one largest well of sorrow is that I will never live long enough to read all of the books I want to read.
I'm trying my best!!!! Was this enough about me? I don't know!!!
Listen I accidentally chose this thinking it'd be the bulleted list option and it won't delete and I don't want to just post it blank
So
Yeah
My reading habits and my partners reading habits...talk about different.

Do you like Science Fiction? My love of sci-fi didn’t start well. When I was seven years old, my eleven-year-old sister took me to a double feature movie: “Them” and “Tarantula.” One could argue those are horror movies, but they’re based on science-gone-wrong. “Them” is about nuclear testing creating ten-story high ants, and “Tarantula” is about a chemical accident creating a ten-story tall…
