Yeah, here’s the progress so far of my little ficus bonsai which uhhhh currently is not looking much like progress because a draft this winter caused total leaf drop... it’s still green wood though and hopefully will soon put out new leaves.
Some of these photos may look out of order due to some trimming I did here and there to keep it from going too wild... I got this plant initially as a 2 inch “fairy garden” plant from work and as you can see it was trying to crawl out of the pot. I grew it in a deeper pot at first because I really wanted its trunk to thicken.
Which it did! A lot. I mean, dang it thicc and the trunk is also slowly turning a silvery color. The first picture was taken ~July 2015, most recent leafy picture was early October 2016. So it did a lot of growing in the past year and at one point had a wild amount of leaves. A big contrast to its currently nakey state.
I did fertilize it a few times also but I have no clue what with or what strength. I’m not sure whether to fertilize it now or after it’s started regrowing leaves though...
