When Jin Zixuan is killed, Wei Wuxian accidentally brings him back as a fierce corpse in his despair. Of course, it pisses off the Jin Clan more than just the death did. Eventually, he manages to bring his conscience back, also making him able to testify that Wei Wuxian is not pure evil and never intended to hurt him.

Does this mean Jin Ling technically would still have a dad? Yes. Would he be able to see him? Probably not, since it wouldn't be difficult for A-Yao to convince everyone else he is just Wei Wuxian's puppet and was just obeying his commands.
