something i think about is how each of mxtx's stories builds on one of the relationship dynamics that didn't work out in her previous story

after svsss, mdzs is au shen yuan x liu qingge: the story of a smart-mouthed troll who is actually time and time again a self-sacrificing cinnamon roll and his silent serious reliable man who (in the words of madam meiyin) "has very little interest in others but once they find someone, their devotion is absolute" and is "a first-class beauty, peerless among all humans" with "outstanding talent, incredible spiritual energy, and of illustrious status and noble blood." liu qingge spending YEARS trying to get shen yuan's body back from luo binghe no matter the number of defeats and blows to his reputation is lan wangji in another font. he just wanted to bring him back to qing jing peak (read: hide him in the cloud recesses)!!!!!

after mdzs, tgcf is au xiao xingchen x song lan (the names couldn't have been more loud !!). their titles "xiao xingchen, bright moon, cool breeze, ever distant" and "song zichen, dauntlessly scorns the snow and the frost" are the backbone of xie lian and hua cheng. xie lian lives his first life essentially above worldly concerns and is able to maintain a virtuous, idealistic disposition until he's tested through his fall from godhood while hua cheng's existence is largely centered around overcoming adversity and hardship. xiao xingchen and song lan weren't able to find each other again in life before it was too late, and this easily could've been xie lian and hua cheng if not for the cursed shackle that prevented xie lian from dying by his own hand

all this is to say i'm really wondering what will come out of mxtx's 4th story. i pray we get some peace after the pain that was beefleaf 🍖🍃
