I sleep in what dog experts call "the most vulnerable position" all day, every day. It means that I'm confident, comfortable, and secure in my surroundings. Sadly, many dogs and other furry friends will never get to live a spoiled, stress-free life like mine. Each year, over 100 million animals are tormented and killed in laboratories in the United States ALONE. This includes over 65,000 DOGS (the most common dogs are beagles due to their docile nature and easy trusting of humans 😞) and over 19,000 CATS. Innocent dogs and cats are purposely bred with awful diseases or wrongfully purchased from shelters to be tormented. National Institutes of Health (NIH) stated that 95% of drugs that pass animal tests FAIL in humans because they are either unsafe or ineffective. The majority of experiments on animals do NOT lead to any treatment for humans. As today is World Day for Animals in Laboratories, let's take a moment to spread awareness on the cruelty and outdatedness of animal testing. Please buy cruelty-free products to fight animal testing. The good news is that some scientists around the globe have skipped animal testing to expedite a vaccine for COVID-19, using innovative, human-relevant methods.
